Friends mean a lot to everyone. We have friends so we can have fun, get through hard times, and to help get us through life. Many times, friends share dreams and life goals. In Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie are the best of friends; they look out for each other, they have fun together, but most importantly they stick together no matter what happens. Lennie has many struggles and even committed murder in light of a mental illness. Despite this, George deeply cares for Lennie and loves him. In Of Mice and Men, George helps Lennie by reminding him to stay out of trouble and has him repeat “I ain’t gonna say nothing.”(pg 6,7;LL, 33-1) George makes sure Lennie doesn’t say a word to keep them both out of trouble.
