I have several plans in store for after high school. I plan on attending college to earn my masters or doctorate degree in a medical field of study.I hope to attend one of the following colleges: Ohio State, Michigan State, or UCLA. Ohio State is located in Columbus, Ohio, Michigan State is located in East Lansing, Michigan, and UCLA is located Los Angeles, California. When looking at these three colleges, I will be comparing overall fees, varsity sports, student population, the size of city where the university is located, and the awards offered. Out of these three universities, I would prefer the Ohio State University.
When I am looking for a college, I look at the total fees it takes to go to that college. Ohio State, on the main campus and in-state, annually costs $25,579. Ohio States’ total costs are lower than both Michigan State and UCLA. Michigan State costs an average of $48,848 and UCLA costs $33, 391, which is a difference of $13,000 and $8,000. Based on the prices given for each of the colleges I would prefer to go to Ohio State because of the lower price per year. Also, depending on my final GPA in high school, I could be getting scholarships. Depending on scholarships offered and from what schools they

Ohio State offers many activities on and off campus such as sports, and other recreational activities. Ohio State also provides many great sports teams including football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Another reason I chose Ohio State is because of the great medical background and education it provides. Ohio State runs one of the most recognized hospitals world-wide called the James. Depending if I pursue medicine, the James could provide with a job straight after college. Finally, I chose Ohio State because of the awesome campus life. My cousin goes to Ohio State and has provided me with background and information which made my decision much

The most essential piece of making this decision is keeping the heart out of it. I feel as if this needs to be more of a business minded decision, as that is what this decision pertains to, future finances. To display this I will compare the many different aspects of quantitative data. First, the attention grabbing aspect of each school, the sticker price. University of Michigan clocks in at a total of $28,776 a year, while University of Florida comes in at $42,939. Although the upper hand would appear to be in Michigan’s favor, my statistics of 3.85 GPA with 6 AP’s and a 31 ACT place my odds at receiving scholarship money from Florida (3.75, 27-31) better than at Michigan (3.85,30-34). This may counterbalance the initial difference so at this time it is difficult to determine who has the edge in this department. Additionally, with all 3’s on the AP tests I will take in may, I have the potential to come into Florida with 21 credits. Three classes at a CC in the summer and I would have the ability to graduate in three years, a benefit that would make the cost difference almost a wash even without scholarships. Now,
The decision making process on what college to attend can be stressful. For some, the deciding factor can be where they get the better offer for sports, such as Butler Community College, or where is closer to home, like Wichita State University. When the time comes to have this tough, and extremely long, process come into play, look at the pros and cons of the college choices and how each one can benefit life after college. What institution can you get out of as much as you put in? Which college has the degree completion plan you are wanting to pursue? When people hear the word “college”, many panic inside at the thought. But, when I hear the word “college” I think about Illinois State University. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses.
When we are young, we usually think that the only existing careers in the world are police officers, doctors, astronauts, etc. At least that is what I thought; I never knew what I wanted to be. I always changed my mind every time they asked, but now I am in high school, and I have a concrete answer. I want to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist, and in order to achieve my goal, I need to finish my bachelor’s and transfer to a college that offers a PT program. Texas State University is one of the 12 universities in Texas that offers a graduate physical therapy program. This is what my research paper will be consisting of, information about Texas State University, the university I wish to attend, after I finish my
To me, USC is a superior educational system with a strong alumni association. From a networking standpoint USC would be the most beneficial to the advancement of my career. Being able to collaborate with my colleagues I meet while attending USC will help me propel my career into a leadership role. Subsequently the ability to attend a school that is in close proximity to where I work will open up effortless opportunities to network, rather than if I was located across the country. My next step in my career will be transferring into a manager role, however to make that jump is extremely difficult without the right connections. Becoming a part of the Trojan community, and the colleagues I meet through the program, will help me make this transition into becoming a successful leader. The second reason I have decided that USC would be the best place for me to earn my masters is that I currently work for the hospital here. Financial burden from my previous school loans is a constant concern when I look at where I can attend. When I became aware that USC has a tuition reimbursement program, I knew immediately USC would be at the top of my list. Another reason USC is my number one choice is the tough academic requirements it will impose on its students. I want to be challenged intellectually and practically. When I am challenged to critically assess a situation, class, or project, I will almost always have
Western Illinois University is a public university located in Macomb, Illinois, United States. It was founded in 1899 as Western Illinois State Normal School. The Ohio State University (OSU) is my second college choice. Being a Buckeye has been a dream of mine since I knew what college was, but with the research I have done, I do not like the size or location of the college, however OSU does offer a really good athletic training program and that's what interests me most about the college. College is not cheap or easy but it is doable. Tuition for OSU is $11,285 per semester (collegecalc.org). With a larger college there is going to be a larger enrollment number. According to (osu.edu) there is an average of 50,000 students enrolled at OSU. Having a large variety of choices in majors is convenient. A total of 175 majors are offered at OSU (osu.edu).The recommended ACT score ranges from 26-30 (osu.edu). Scholarships and financial aid are both offered at OSU. The scholarships offered at OSU are various types of merit scholarships awarded to those students who qualify (osu.edu).Financial aid at OSU is like other universities ,they have grants loans and work study( osu.edu).Like Ohio University , OSU offers extracurricular known as intramural sports and many other programs. Although it is not my first choice if I get the chance I would become a Buckeye.
One of my favorite things about this university is that it is incredibly involved in football. They also have a spectacular medical school that I could attend after graduating. Ohio State is known for their medical school and also has many connections from doctors worldwide. This university is also a lot closer to home so it would be easier for me as well. The Ohio State University is about two hours away, which is a perfect distance to experience the full college life while still having the option to come home on the weekends. Ohio State is a lot cheaper than Duke as well. Their tuition is about $25,000. Also on the subject of tuition, nearly forty five percent of students graduate with no debt. The university is ranked sixteenth best public university in the nation and first in Ohio. Ohio State has an average ACT score of 28, not too off from mine. The university also has a perfect student to teacher ratio that is 19:1. OSU is number seven in studying abroad programs. This is another one of my favorite things about this university because I love traveling. Like Duke, Ohio State has many clubs and activities that students can get involved in. This may help when trying to make friends in such a large
When making my college decision I applied to Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State and Miami. My first thought was getting away from home and going to a school that wasn’t in my hometown. Also, I was considering academics but each school was pretty much the same. I weighed these options as well as playing hockey in college as my main determining factors. I ultimately chose Ohio State after months of debating.
Life after high school is full of uncertainty. There are many different paths that one can take like going straight into the workforce, joining the military, or attending college. Picking one of these paths was easy for me; I am positive that I want to go to college. However, deciding which college to go to is a seemingly impossible decision. Not only do I have to figure out which college is the best academic fit, but I also decide which track program suites me best. There are a lot of different factors to consider, and after looking into many schools, I have my choices narrowed down to the Ohio State University or the University of Akron. If I had to make my decision right now, with all the information I have about the University of Akron and the Ohio State University, I would have to go with Akron.
College better give me one of the best experiences of my life. Choosing a college and trying to decide where to go is very stressful and exciting at the same time. I think college will give me the opportunity to meet new people and have more freedom, but the classes will be very challenging. Ohio Northern and Findlay both have strong academics and a great reputation. Also, both of them have positives and negatives such as the activities and studies. Even though both are very similar, the University of Findlay has my major and other great qualities I am looking for.
