The olympics, a game made to honor the ancient grecians god Zeus. They olympics have been around for nearly 3,000 years with the first record being in 776 B.C. but we know that they were going on before because of the myths of the people in their cities playing before. They were originally held on the western Peloponnese peninsula. The masterminds were the citizens of Olympia who lived their life around religious ties. To honor the gods specifically Zeus. they only held them once every four years to honor him, it was there time scale that equals to ours four years.

The major one beng cost. In every place the olympics have been held it is a fact that they have spent anywhere from 4-50 billion dollars to create the scene and atmosphere for the games. Also it is hard to accommodate a professional and secure location for each of the games played. Many cities cannot accommodate due to this. Security is a very big issue, crime rates during the time of the games tends to heighten and getting a lid on this has showed and proved to be a issue in many location.
Some top olympic contenders have been a heptathlon and long jumper named Jackie Joyner-Kersee. She was often known as “The First Lady of American Athletes”. Sh participated and set records in every olympic meet she has ever competed in for four consecutive olympic games. The figure skater Scott Hamilton blew the wind out of every olympic game he had ever participated in as well, scoring perfectly. He showed superb footwork everytime he was on the ice, and was known for his signature backflips.
Baseball and football are debated to be in the Olympics, however these are both sport that America and almost only america are specialized in. I think that it would be smart to expand these two sports into the olympic games, creating more revenue and diversity into the
