Hundreds of Royal Caribbean cruise sales and service agents each take dozens of calls each day, and I ultimately help provide those agents with readily accessible, thorough information they can provide to callers with little notice. I edit the company intranet pages, which supplement the consumer websites but offer agents a source for concise information without the clutter of promotional marketing language. The intranet also provide training materials for agents as well as background information that should not be shared on an external website. I write in hypertext markup language (HTML) to ensure that links point to the appropriate internal and external sites, that graphics match the text on the pages, and that material has not become …show more content…
Aside from collaborating with the rest of the Random Lengths team to produce the weekly newsletters as well as other projects with competing deadlines, I Ied that team as editor of a monthly statistical newsletter and editor of an industry glossary revision. I managed the company Twitter account and represented the company at wood products industry meetings.
I interviewed subjects over the phone to write articles in Word for the monthly Performance Horse magazine, which covered the cutting, reining, and working cow horse industries. As I have with many of my other jobs, I quickly learned information that was new to me and explained subjects to thousands of readers. I edited articles submitted by other authors both for content and to fit within the page layouts. I proofread advertisements for Performance Horse as well as the company’s two main all-advertising monthly publications, the Truck and Trailer and Heavy Equipment catalogs. The company was located in Eugene at the time.
I gathered information at events, from in-person or phone interviews, and from news releases to produce content for the sports section of a twice-weekly newspaper and the sports pages of two biweekly neighborhood newspapers in Eugene. Recognizable from photos in the newspaper and with camera and notebook in hand, I was regularly the face of the company at local events. I
I graduated from University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) with a Bachelors of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree with a major in Electrical Engineering in April 2016. I have been looking for my field job for more than a year.
I am interested in pursuing the esteem four year MD program at NOSM as it provides students a unique opportunity to gain medical experience at community-engaged institution. I would have the opportunity to learn medicine under the guidance of a well-respected faculty and be a part of a diverse, multicultural medical institution with a common goal of positively imparting healthcare to the North community through innovation and research
Engaging with the study of the mind and its effect on human behaviour fascinates me. Why do we behave the way we do and how does our social surrounding affect us? My interest deepens into how the innate mind of a human builds up and exhibits certain types of behaviour. I am intrigued by how child behaviour differs from adult behaviour, and how children exhibit their behaviour in the environment aspiring me towards the role of a child psychologist. My vision is to work with children to understand their behaviour as well as improve it using the skills I aim to learn during my undergraduate course of psychology.
Education. It is a vital source needed in order to succeed. Though many schools offer a basic education, there are not many that offer the advanced level of learning that ASMSA provides. While attending ASMSA, I hope to be taught at a higher level that better suits my standards. ASMSA will give me the prospect to learn at a level that I can use to challenge myself to better my future.
When I was starting my sophomore year in high school, I obtained a typical ambition of becoming a physician. However, this aspiration was largely unjustifiable since I was oblivious to what a job in healthcare truly entailed i.e. authentic patient care, the significance of effective verbal communication, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) protocols healthcare professionals must abide by or even what the rationale behind using an AED was. However, through HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), I have gained more competence in understanding the healthcare field and the importance of service, the amount of hard work and preparation for an event to be successful, and the significance of empathy and selflessness.
My interest in the human brain really began my junior year of high school when I took AP Psychology. I could not get enough of learning about how and why we function on a day to day basis, which can be looked at from multiple perspectives including from a biological angle. It amazed me then, and still amazes me today, that a complex network of neurons which fire electrochemical signals is the basis of every action we do on a day to day basis. This idea sparked my passion for learning more about the nervous system and how it functions, and is an interest which remains with me to this day. This same year of high school I also fell in love with Chemistry and Anatomy/Physiology, both of which applied in some capacity to AP Psychology as well. Ultimately
As an individual, due to my upbringing and experiences, I act in such a way that my future will be more desirable instead of focusing on how I can act to receive instant gratification. Some of these actions include pushing myself to take classes which demand more dedication, keeping my grades up, and taking upon myself leader-like responsibilities. I feel that one can conclude another’s moral growth through their actions, thus how one will judge me is heavily determined by my past actions. There is a multitude of influences in my life, however, the appeal of my imminent adulthood is more persuasive to keep working on my character.
I have had many experiences that demonstrate my life-long commitment to the promotion of progressive ideals. Some of these experiences go back as early as high school, I was a member Key Club and President of Natural Helpers (two volunteer groups), the International Club and helped my Muslim peers with the formation and establishment of M.E.C.C.A, to promote a positive image of Islam and educate Non-Muslims about the faith. In college I worked for NYPIRG, canvassing for environmental causes, did an internship and later worked for, Action for A Better Community a community action agency. After graduation, I volunteered at Citizen Action where I worked on the beginning stages of Healthcare Reform and the ACA. I want to be a New Leaders Council’s
Imagine seeing the beautiful smile of a stranger who has been unable to genuinely smile for months. Imagine the satisfying feeling of relief when a mother hears her child is stable after a tragic situation. Imagine hearing the news that the cancer is gone. To make an unremarkable impact on an individual’s life, one needs to possess the qualities of leadership, compassion, courage and intelligence. With success, there comes a moment when leadership and originality truly shine through an individual.
Promoting women’s equality in the workplace has been a central focus throughout my professional life. As a journeywoman carpenter (prior to my current academic career), I volunteered as a project leader for the Oregon Tradeswomen Inc., OTI (http://www.tradeswomen.net/) in Portland, Oregon. In this role, I taught women in OTI’s apprentice program introductory skills that allowed them to enroll in various trade union training programs throughout the Pacific Northwest. The goal of this work was simple, to increase the number of women in careers that were predominately male-dominated. At every stage of my academic career, I’ve made a concerted effort to mentor female students, and took great joy in watching them succeed. I believe that serving
When I entered Loyola University Chicago in the fall on 2017, I still felt understandably unsure as to what both my academic and my professional future might hold for me. After two semesters of exploring my interests and growing more confident in my abilities, I feel very secure in what the future may hold.
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was privileged to attended some of the best public schools in the nation. I am blessed to have been born into a family that provided me with the resources necessary to become successful. Although no journey ever goes as planned, my experiences have led me to believe that I am destined for great things. I hope that my journey towards success will continue by being accepted into the Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice program at Mount Mercy University for the Fall of 2018. My decision to study Criminal Justice can be traced back to the day I discovered the importance of the events that have shaped me into the young woman that I am today.
I would love to attend TARGET. Attending The Academy at Rutgers for Girls in Engineering and Technology would be an exhilarating opportunity for me to learn more about engineering and technology. I would like to familiarize them with career opportunities within engineering. Engineering and technology are part of everyday life. Math and science have permanently captured my interest since second grade. I am driven by discovery and innovation, TARGET is just right for me. I love hands-on activities, labs, and projects. The Academy at Rutgers for Girls in Engineering and Technology would allow me to explore my full potential. The Academy at Rutgers for Girls in Engineering and Technology is ideal for me because I am clever, determined, and creative. Therefore, I would love to attend TARGET.
I am a very trustworthy and approachable person. As Vice President of Standards, conversations must remain confidential and sisters have to feel comfortable talking to the Vice President of Standards about issues they may be having within the chapter. I believe I am a friendly face in Alpha Omicron Pi and have built strong relationships with many of my sisters. I am also a very trustworthy person. During my senior year of high school at Kimball Union Academy, I was elected to be a member of my Honor Board, a very similar role to that of standards. Honor Board was made up of seven seniors and five faculty who would hold hearings for students who were caught breaking school rules. These meeting often ended up in suspension and even expulsion
ince I want to work in national security, I decided to get my in to get my inspiration from law enforcement and intelligence agencies websites. Most national security agencies websites are blue and have a minimum of one world map image. So, I decided to take that route and used the Pictaculous website to find different shades of blue that match my world map image.
