Citizen journalism is a new form of journalism that allows the general public to publish online. Citizen journalists are given the opportunity to produce content that would normally only be possible for professionally educated journalists otherwise. Now, publishing news-worthy stories globally has been accessible for both classes of journalism as a result of new media. New media has fundamentally changed the production of news regarding recent and important events as well as the way we acquire it. It has permanently redefined the role of journalism by significantly improving the process of news distribution for both traditional as well as citizen journalism.
