There is a continuous dispute about the true advantages of online education. Not only with college students, but younger K-12 kids too. Editor of Training and Development Magazine, Donna J Abernathy, wrote, “Online Learning is not the next big thing, it is the now big thing” (Pappas). She is referring to the advancements in technology that are here in the present, that are here to help, and are here to teach. More frequently these days, K-12 students are using online-based work. Some say submerging kids into technology is unhealthy for their development, but online learning is a useful way to further the comprehension of education in kids K-12 located the Yakima Valley. In the Yakima Valley, this would be an extraordinarily advantageous aspect to add to the working class. Having the competence to be adaptable and have passion to learn leads to jobs being filled easier around the valley. With more jobs secured, the economic state of Yakima will see incredible improvement. Online courses force students to expand their flexibility range within different situations they are placed in. A positive light is shed on online course for teaching students to learn how to learn. Especially with technology being implemented in the workspace more and more frequently, future employees will need versatile skills and know how to learn as new software and advancements make their way into the “flat” world. As countries maintain this “flat world” concept, education will also maintain problems on the bottom rank. Depending on your geography, your level of education varies. This causes inequality for those living in poorer areas because they will receive meager teachers. Friedman speaks out about this problem and says, “So if you went to an elite private school or a public school in a wealthy neighborhood, you got an education that reinforced innovation
