As an online learner, intending to be an expert in the field of Education in Primary Teaching, I have learned that communication does not need to be face to face environment.
Concentrating on with Swinburne University has taken communication to another level that is new to me and a lot of different students.

The sources of websites are hard and sometimes impossible to find, looking at the web extension does declare somewhat of what the website is. Even in the cases where .gov or .edu is used, it does not always mean that the information will be superior to other sources. While it may seem like these sources have some kind of authority, nothing is stopping from them lying straight to someone’s face. The chapter says also to be careful of what a websites actual commercial use is.
Although most of the information available may be true, there are other indicators that the website may not have the most reliable information. There are no footnotes contained on any of the webpages, nor are there links to reliable sources of information. In fact, nearly all of the links on the site will redirect you to another page under the same domain. This, to me, is a good indicator that there are no other sources to justify that the information contained are from a quality source.
The article "Read-only participants: a case for student communication in online learning" by L. Nagel, A.S. Blignaut and J.C. Cronje, appears in Interactive Learning Environments. The article asserts that communication and active participation in online class increases the chance of the student’s success in an online class. Immediate feedback from peers and instructors and social interaction built into the online discussions contribute to learning (Collins, A., Brown, J.S., & Holum, A., 1991).
This website is a credible source for a couple of reasons. The first reason this is a credible source is because of the author, Paul Godfrey. This author is in a peer reviewed website which would make this author a credible source. Furthermore, the website and the article itself is peer reviewed which makes this a credible source.

For this weeks’ reflection, I would like to take a different approach about certain things. I presented my article this week which was about El Centro high school which was a super segregated high school in the sense that no rights or help were given to the Latinos students. Every time I read about these type of issues, it gets me super mad that we Latinos, especially undocumented are seen as objects to US society. For example, something that I learned this week is about the term “illegal” which it refers to something illegal like a law or object and, most the time they call us illegal aliens as if were some aliens from another planet. As a member of the city of Milwaukie’s Vision Action Committee, I feel my contribution to my community is substantial. Starting back in August of 2016 I began to meet with various individuals from the community, all of which wanted to see change for the better in Milwaukie. These people are men and women, old and young, lifelong Milwaukians and new residents, business owners and employees of an organization, or in my case a student. Coming from all walks of life we divested a few hours once a month to discuss and plan the future of Milwaukie. We started with a dream, a single question, what is the most ideal Milwaukie? This question, of course, is different for every person in that meeting, but that’s the point. In the beginning stages of the VAC we discussed this vision, our personal vision and eventually our collective vision. During this process we thought of four major pillars of life, those being planet, place, people, and prosperity. These pillars were our guiding principles that everything, one way or another had to come back to. Once our vision was set and our mission statement drafted we opened our work to the public by holding a town hall meeting. This town hall took place in November, nearly four months from the beginning of our endeavor. We left that meeting with great feedback and fantastic suggestions, as well as the notion that we still have a tremendous amount of work to complete. While our vision statement was liked and accepted by the masses the main
