For the intercultural interview, I decided to interview my friend Medelyn, a 19 year old female of Honduran and Mexican descent. During the interview, I focused on her Honduran culture, as she was born in Honduras, I asked her a multitude of various questions ranging from formalities in her culture to gender roles to classism in her culture.. The interview lasted about twenty minutes, I asked her about fifteen questions, and after she answered each question there would be a small discussion about her answer. When interviewing Medelyn, it was important to rid myself of any ethnocentrism, assumed cultural similarity or differences, stereotyping, and anything that could create a bias and compromise the interview.

There are many components to a hospital or medical facility. All of them are necessary to have a properly functioning environment. The emergency department of a hospital is a fast paced world. You have to be constantly on your toes and prepared for whatever may come through the doors. There are many people that work in an emergency room to make it run smoothly. Techs, nurses, CNA’s, LVN’s, and doctors all work side by side to help those who are critically injured. Without all these people it would be complete chaos.

In order to have a better understanding of what exactly an individual in the helping profession does especially one who works with children; I decided to interview the Guidance Counselor and middle school student life coordinator Rebecca Louth at Saint Patrick’s Catholic School. Saint Patrick’s is a private Catholic school grade Pre-k through 8th. Before the interview I thought I had a good understanding of what the role a guidance counselor played within a school, but this interview helped me develop a better understanding of how a guidance counselor works. It also helped me understand how the staff and faculty at a school (specifically a private school) work; their day to day tasks.
pon first interacting with Dontae, you would see that he is nice and simple. He is very intelligent, he speaks Spanish and French. Whether it’s he’s fun, calm, or he is serious. However his intelligence and respect could not have been reached without dontae’s years of schooling. To learn to respect people when being respected or being calm and serious. Without school, he wouldn't be the man he is today. I decided to interview him about his life and college experience and also his job. When I first began to talk to him, he looked very serious and calm. However, he gave good response and it was like a normal conversation. Dontae is 31 years old, lives in Seattle, Washington was born in 1986 February 17.His favorite color is blue. Favorite types of
When thinking in the terms of marriage and one’s partner, the words that come to my mind are compassion, love, tenderness, trust, and devotion. It’s truly amazing to see someone who has endured such tragedy in their life, who has suffered pain, fear, and betrayal by the hands of the one person who should have shown just the opposite. Little did I realize that the woman who would be my instructor for two college courses I had taken would be such an inspiration to me.

A thematic analysis of an interview was used to help students develop an understanding of the role of an RC. This role is dynamic and challenging; it offers great opportunities to grow and work in an academic team based environment that fosters constant learning. Often RCs play a significant role in the process of bringing a project from conception to completion which requires a variety of qualifications and leadership qualities. An inductive approach to this process, beginning with data collection and analysis, allowed me to consider specific aspects of the topic and progress on to more general concepts. Eventually, I was able to discover connections between existing knowledge and the data I analyzed. The finalized themes included Qualifications; Role of Team Leader; Rewards and Challenges.
I actually enjoyed doing this mock interview. During the mock interview, overall I felt pretty comfortable and confident. I think the biggest thing I learned from the mock interview is to give more detail in my responses to the interviewer’s questions. When answering a question from the interviewer I should answer the question just as if I was writing it in an essay. Restate the question but with an answer, give a reason or example to support my answer, and then conclude my response by tying the information together.
Make sure you look your best when going to a job interview. Dress to impress! This will make sure that you will have a nice haircut, very knowledgeable about the job, and that they best portray themselves as being caring. This is where you have to fake it until you make it. Going in so confident that there isn’t a chance of one getting the job. Leaving the interview they would tell you that you should receive a call within 24 hours to 2 days or so. Four days later, you haven’t received a call and when you call back you are told that the position was given to someone else. Thinking to yourself what could you possibly have done wrong? Thinking back on who all was at the interview, it was a majority of white people and pretty much everyone was slim and attractive. Out of like 4 other races, I was young, black and overweight.
So you have decided to apply for a job; well, it’s time to write your resume. It may seem like a lot of hard work and time but once you’ve got your mindset and know your own capabilities writing a resume will be a breeze. The resume helps the employer understand what you have accomplished so far and why you should be hired for the position you applied for. A resume should consist of where you had volunteered or played a sport, what transferable skills you could deliver to the workplace and why you think you should be hired.
