Whenever I approach any patients I start with introduction, and explain my role in their care. Then from there on I let them talk and listen to make sure that I understand. I ask open-ended question to elicit information pertaining to their health and care for them with respect, and empathy. I always think about the patient I am assigned to I try to come up with nursing diagnosis, intervention, and outcome relate to my patient diseases. I think about the overall picture. I always made sure patients call bell was within reach, and I told them that they can call if they needed anything. I made sure to put my patients bed in the lowest position.
The first and most important method would be, respecting the resident’s voice. As a nurse aide, I want to make sure that my residents are being heard. I want them to be able to come to me when they need help or have problems. I also want them to know that I am here for them.
I will stay calm and will not be nervous during the interaction. I will do this by focusing on the needs of my patient and by trying to understand how she is feeling in this situation. I will ask open ended questions. I will do this in order to foster a meaningful conversation and to allow my patient to answer questions in her own way. I will use silence throughout my interaction in order to give my patient time to think about what she wants to say. I will do this by waiting for her answers and by encouraging my patient to take part in our interaction.
The 1818 book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and the 1972 movie Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks both portray the differences in feminism regarding the cultural times through the character of Elizabeth. When Mary Shelley wrote the book Frankenstein, she was on a mission to pursue equal rights in education for her daughter. In Shelley's time, the only way to show feminine empowerment was to be literate and well-poised, which readers can see in certain passages featuring Elizabeth in Shelley's book. In the 1970's, when the movie Young Frankenstein was made, female empowerment was emphasized with a movement called “lipstick feminism”, which encouraged women to
While implementing Primary Health Care models, identical to those in metropolitan areas, in a rural setting is not practical, I feel there is an obvious need to improve primary health care in remote areas. This is due to the significant health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, in rural and remote areas
Compassion, Dedication, Responsibility, Empathy these are just some of the many things nurses should have when caring for a patient. I have had the opportunity to provide service at St. Elizabeth’s hospital. I worked with St. Elizabeth Hospital Patient Portal Program; I would go from room to room and ask each patient if he/she would like to set up their patient portal where they have the option to see their test results and all their medical history on an online database. Many thought this was an excellent idea. You would enter a patients room and see that their not in the best condition. Going in a patient’s room can be scary at times however, going into a situation confident that you maybe unsure about is the best thing you can do. After
identify the next line of action to deliver quality and effective nursing care, relate with patient in friendly manner always so as to gain their trust and all these actions are usually coordinate by the most senior nurse on duty
Addison Ellinger World Literature Essay 29 February 2024 Revealing the Corrupt Society of the Middle Ages According to the Urban Dictionary, the word corrupt can be defined as the absence of moral values. In Geoffrey Chaucer’s Reverdy, The Canterbury Tales, the travelers along the pilgrimage to the Shrine of Cantuburry are described in depth; not only about their appearance but also their personality. Chaucer’s manifestation of himself in this poem is called Chaucer the Pilgrim. Through his descriptions, each character's unique manners and values are coherent.
he lesson that I can take during patient interactions are to try find the best way to accommodate patient's needs and know my limitations. For example I cannot speak Russian and my patients are Russians with limited English, however, I know they need so much help and education. I rather talk to the nurse manager and refer them to another nurse that can speak Russian or to get an interpreter to help me. It might be seem "I am washing my hands" and try to get rid of them, but my attention was to help them better.
Language and behavior. In any profession, there is specific language that goes along with it. A nurse’s terminology is made up of mostly medical terms that are a person’s anatomy and physiological make up, medications, diseases, procedures etc. To be an effective communicator in this profession being up to date on medical terminology is a must. This is called the standardized language of medicine. “When everyone understands what a condition, medicine, or procedure is, they are able to fulfill their roles accordingly, whether that is delivering medicine or billing for a medicine” (PCC Institute of Health Professionals, 2017). Along with language expectations, there are ways a nurse is expected to carry themselves. Patients expect their nurses to be compassionate, keep them informed, and have good bedside manner. This means
Understanding that part of the success in recovering the patient lies in a good communication and it makes part of the success in recovering the patient. Starting the work with the patients, the first one that I consider the vital importance is in the form in which we establish a verbal and non-verbal communication. The first and most important thing I can do for a patient beginning the day is just to smile using a calm and welcoming voice. Then, as a patient care provider, it’s when I begin to develop a close nurse-patient relationship
As a poor Asian who ventured out of a dominantly white, small town, I understand the consequences of being a minority. This is how my passion to serve the underserved originated, and why I have partnered with service organizations such as Berea Buddies and AmeriCorps. Being a member of these empathetic communities has deepened my gratitude for how beautifully diverse our world is and for all people regardless of the challenges they face. For example, upon entering my service year to mentor children in D.C. public schools, I was told by almost everyone that there is no helping those children because of the family and monetary problems they encounter. Their responses reminded me of the comments I heard when I decided my life after high-school.

Working well with people is an important factor in the nursing career; a nurse must always be respectful to every patient regardless of the situation. Persuasion sometimes has to be used because a patient may not want a certain medication so a nurse must help the person understand that it is what is best for him or her health and their track to recovery. A nurse must always pay close attention to their patients because if problems or concerns come up, a nurse must be the first to notice it.
This semester I learned a lot about writing in English 151. It has been a roller coaster ride with these essays for me this semester. I learned step by step how to write a good essay and how to have your readers be engaged in what you’re trying to tell them. Each essay I did has taught me something valuable I can take to the next level of English. I feel as if as the semester went by I did not take my writing that seriously and that reflected in my grades I received in each essay. It made me a better student and writer and it will reflect next semester. In this essay, I will reflect on what I learned throughout this semester that you should apply in your writing when you begin English 151.
The nurse must initially evaluate the patient’s charts for any bacterial precautions and fall risks. As the nurse walks into the patient’s room, the nurse begins by making sure the environment is clean and safe. The nurse would do this by gathering equipment, washing hands thoroughly, and wear gloves. The nurse is then to greet the patient, introducing self, then let them know exactly what you came to do. The nurse should first ask the patient for his or her name, birthdate, location of where the patient is currently at, and the reason as to what
