Windows, no not the glass panes you look through, but the series of operating systems created by Microsoft. Windows operating systems are a main source of income for Microsoft and are expected to rise due to support for Windows XP being cancelled. “The Windows boost is likely related to businesses increasingly moving away from Windows XP as it entered end of support earlier this month” (Warren, Tom). Windows is a good operating system but why not have a better one? “Linux is a potential solution” (Kerner, Sean M.). Say goodbye to paying for operating systems and Microsoft office applications! Linux is the answer to your call with, free operating systems, its own version of Microsoft office, customizable desktop looks, and even faster processing than Windows. "Windows is indeed slower than other operating systems in many scenarios, and the gap is worsening. The cause of the problem is social. There's almost none of the improvement for its own sake, for the sake of glory, that you see in the Linux world" (Marc Bevand). Yes thats right a Microsoft employee said Linux is indeed faster, that means no more yelling at an inanimate object that isn’t up to your expectations. Because of Linux’s speed it has many uses besides just a desktop computer such as, “Android phones and tablets, Japanese high speed rails, High-tech traffic control, a robotic system for milking cows, particle physics research, NASA’s computers, and nuclear submarines” (Love, Dylan).
