If I could go to dinner with anyone from the past or the present, I would go to dinner with Oprah Winfrey. I consider her role model because despite the hardship she faced in her young childhood, she never gave up and currently represents a strong independent woman through her own show. Many people call her “a modern successful woman” and a powerful celebrity because she not only has her own views on topics but she also invites other individuals onto her show to help spread their view on the world through media. Beyond her professional career, she is a great philanthropist and helps unprivileged children around the world. I think it’d be a great experience to have dinner with her because she it would be inspiring to listen to her advice on
From approximately 1000-1600 ce knights and samurai existed in Europe and Asia. Although they were around the same time period they were different. Knights were the European warriors and the samurai were the Japanese warriors. Although they are both warriors their codes and the way of preparing for battle were different. The similarities may look like they are great but there are small specific differences between the knights and samurai.
The past several months have been hectic where the Duggars are concerned. Between Josh Duggar admitting he molested five girls in May, and getting caught in the Ashley Madison scandal, the once squeaky-clean image he portrayed has been tarnished beyond repair. All sorts of sources have discussed him – even websites such as Fox News and CBS News have written stories on Josh.

Michelle Obama is the wife of Barack Obama, who is currently the President and 44th in the United States of America. Mrs Obama is an independent American lawyer and famous writer. She also happens to be the first African-American First Lady in the country. In this paper I am going to discuss her early years, education, career, personal and family life, and accomplishments or influence while serving as First Lady and after leaving the White House.
Ellen DeGeneres is a comical genius. She can take the most inane situations and use them to deliver punch lines with impeccable timing and inflection. Her warm and disarming deadpan combined with a quick wit has made her a favorite personality on daytime TV. Ellen’s comedy is based on intelligent observation rather than mean-spirited attack or scatological filler. The way she keeps us laughing, crying, and of course dancing, helps us live lighter, happier, better lives. So it’s a little preposterous that some are labeling her a racist for a recently tweeted meme about Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt.
Grew up on the Southside of Chicago, earned degrees from Princeton and Harvard Law School, married the man she loved, became the first black woman to be the First Lady of the United States, improved civil rights for people of color, and changed the face of feminism; these are some, but most certainly not all, of the accomplishments of the same woman, Michelle Obama. She is overall an inspiring woman to so many people that have had to struggle in life. She has done everything in her power to help those people lead a life of justice and equality that they otherwise, had been prevented from doing. Michelle Obama has achieved things most others with her upbringing could only dream of. She used her achievements to give those people a better chance. Michelle Obama has become an extremely important figure in America because of her inspiring advocacy for women, girls, and people of color, and she was doing this far before she became the first lady of the United States.
I would like to eat dinner with Betsy Ross because she is the person I'm doing for my history project. She could give me a lot of information about my project and what happened back then. I also think that it is really cool the she made the first american flag.
“When they go low, we go high”. This is one of Michelle Obama’s famous quotes because when Michelle Obama was growing up, white people had low expectations for colored people like Michelle Obama. To Michelle Obama this meant if people had low expectations for her she would strike higher than what people thought of her. When Michelle was growing up, racism was a big problem. Even though racism brought many colored people down, this did not change Michelle Obama’s expectations for herself.
Oprah Gail Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi to a teenage single mother on January 29, 1954. Growing up Oprah was raised mostly by her grandmother, while her own mother was often away trying to find work. Growing up poor Oprah was made to wear sack cloth, because clothes were too expensive. As a child Oprah showed early signs of being intelligent. By the age of three she could recite poems and bible verses with ease. When she was six years old Oprah moved with her mother into an apartment in Milwaukee. While working long hours as a maid Oprah’s mother often was absent from her daughter’s life. At the ages of nine through thirteen during her mother’s absence from the home Oprah was molested by family members and acquaintances.
If the opportunity were to be given to meet and have a conversation with one person in human history it would be Michelle Obama. She serves as a role model for many young black girls including myself. Seeing a strong black woman in power was just what I needed while I was growing up, someone like myself in the media, someone that I could aspire to be. Therefore, if I were given the opportunity to have a 30-minute conversation with anyone; it would undoubtedly be her.
Goggles at the ready, I was on a mission. I swirl the flask frantically as the chemical base neutralized the acid; however, the stubborn mixture refused to lighten into the rose color I desired. Determinedly, I continue a bit longer until the hot pink finally softened. I sighed with relief as the bell rang. Quickly writing down the results of my third trial, I call the titration a success and rush out the door. Another rigorous day of learning in AP chemistry completed. Chemistry’s dynamic structure never ceases to capture my interest and motivate my learning.
In today’s day and age one of the most influential women and people is Oprah Winfrey. Oprah has had a big impact on today’s society and played a huge role in advancing it. Oprah Winfrey is a talk show host, producer, actress and philanthropist who are widely respected around the world. By becoming one of the biggest names in talk show history Oprah has paved the way for others and became one of the more popular women in talk show history. Her willingness to help others and to be sure others are guided in positive light shows how much passion she has to see the greater good in others. Oprah’s biggest role comes from helping to pursue the advancement of young women and girls. Oprah has taken the time to see to it that young women are out of poverty and opening up a brand new school for underprivileged females to see to it that they have the same opportunity that children in America and other parts of the world have. Being that African- Americans, let alone women were not seen as marketable, Oprah helped to change this dynamic early in her career by using her platform in communication to open doors for other people. Winfrey’s work over a number of years is the single most evident reason why she has been able to be successful in the field of mass communication. Oprah is one of the most influential women of our time because of how well she is able to contribute to the human rights of women and advancing them in today’s society.
To lead a community into uncertainty in earlier times was based on whether you were able to physically protect the people within. The position of a leader one thousand years ago could only determined by physical strength. Since men are biologically structured to be stronger, this resulted in men being the first leaders of society. This culture of a male-dominated society based on the archaic view of physicality is composed of more flaws than fairness towards today’s larger component of society, women.
Did you that 1 out of every 10 people will be successful? "Success" is measured by the eye within our society, we all see what we want but do not make the expectation that it takes to become successful, with in ones lifetime. Even though we may see the glamorous things we never see the downfall that kicks off the rise.
