Specific practices that successful project managers apply in exercising their leadership and management roles overall.
Project management is one of the avenues through which individuals can be able to exhibit their leadership and management capabilities (Melgrati, & Damiani, 2012). Being a leader in project management does not necessarily mean that one has to pull all the strings in the team. Neither does management mean that one has to boss around the other employees like they are objects and human beings. Firstly (Schuman, 2010), successful project managers embrace team work. Since the organization, or the company in which the project is to be done wants some level of success achieved within a specific period of time, it requires the entire team to put its resources together in pulling of the job. That means working together. However, team work cannot be embraced if the project managers fail to realise the need for the same. In the modern workplace, we have diverse employees with diverse cultures, backgrounds and specific talents. In daily organizational developments, these diverse set of employees form part of the small groups tasked with a project to achieve something for the company.
