Organized Crime Group Analysis In this paper it was asked of us as a team to give an in-depth historical analysis of an organized crime group. With this class being about organized crime one would think to write about mobsters, but we decided to think outside the box. Even though when thinking of organized crime the first thought is The Italian Mafia and groups of that sort, one has to remember that organized crime comes in many different forms of organizations. From this class we were able to understand more on organized crime and who can be classified as an organized crime organization. Organizations that one would never really think of as having ties to organized crime may have some

Bite, 2012). The structure of the Aryan Brotherhood was built on race and control to protect its white members in prison but on the outside its street distribution saw only one color green. As for its political gain the group says it has no political ties what so ever. Through my readings I found that there is a link between the Aryan brotherhood and KKK and that’s in the military. Scott Barfield a defense department investigator said “Recruiters are knowingly allowing neo-Nazis and white supremacists to join the army forces, and commanders do not remove them from the military even after we positively identify them as extremists or gang members”. In the U.S there have been members of the Klan that held political ground Robert Byrd Dem U.S senator and David Duke Louisiana St. legislature are some. It’s a latter effect from prison to politics but within my readings the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Now-a-days The Aryan Brotherhood is dwindling in groups and more are being spread out and held in isolation all over the U.S to dismember groups (B.G. Bite, 2011) The Aryan Brotherhood run illegal businesses as themselves or allied with other gangs (Aryan Brotherhood, 2012). In 1972 it is said that the Aryan Brotherhood formed an alliance with the Mexican Mafia so that they could all import drugs into the U.S. The
How would you feel if a white supremacist came to your city and started violence? The Aryan Nation is a white supremacist, they are one of the most known neo Nazi. They met in Idaho and had meetings for all neo Nazis to come to and pitch ideas on what to do next. People in Idaho were furious when they found out about this group, but they couldn’t do anything about. The Aryan Nation have left an imprint Idaho and people still talk about it even after the dispersal.
The Aryan brotherhood was originally started in the San Quentin prison in California in 1967. “Members display many white supremacist, neo-nazi characteristics and ideology, but often but often state their goals as simply “getting high and getting over,” or making their stay in prison as comfortable as possibly” (Florida Department of Corrections). Being that the Aryan Brotherhood is made up of white people, who show that neo-nazi mentality, some of the enemies of this gang include Black Guerilla Family, Crips, Bloods, and El Rukns, because these gangs are made up of mostly black members. The Aryan Brotherhood will use black associates to sell drugs within the prisons to other black prisoners, this will eliminate the exposure they have with rival gangs. They do maintain a working type of relationship with the Mexican Mafia, and are known to work alongside biker groups. It is said many of them were once part of these biker groups.
The Aryan Brotherhood was founded in 1960 with the primary principle being to defend against other ethnic groups who were forming gangs. The Aryan Brotherhood consists of white Caucasians and began within the prison walls around California. Membership initiation increased as the gang spread to other states and currently, they have 15,000 initiated members. Although the AB constitutes for a minor percentage among gang population, their presence of violent behavior and conduct is prominent with 18% of murders
The Italian mafia group is an organized crime in Italy in the 18th century, there are several organized crime groups, and the Sicilian mafia known as Cosa Nostra of Sicily is one of the powerful, most famous, secretive criminal. Today organized crime has comes to us at every corner, organized crime is a group of criminals who are involved in illegal activities usually for money. Cosa Nostra explains how the mafia began, how it developed its rituals and its code of ‘honor’. Cosa Nostra is an Italian mafia like an Italian mob, founded in Sicily, Italy in the year of mid 1800s
Cults obtain very anti-semitic perceptions that marginalize minority groups to ultimately advocate the supremacy of the white culture. A globally familiar xenophobic organization, “Ku Klux Klan,” is notorious for their history of brutalities committed due to cultural intolerance. The secret societies express their animosity due to obscure ideologies and sufficient ignorance. To begin, the Ku Klux Klan acquires a victimizing political belief system that states in which minorities are a mass threat to society. The organization’s core philosophical conclusion is that White America is threatened by “racial impurities.” The KKK creates an ignorant theory that the government supports and defends minorities, therefore the racists victimize
They, in the beginning of their existence, claimed that they were a Christian organization, but in later years they persecuted Catholics and performed violent acts against them. Throughout their existence, they haven't had any known alliances with other hate or terrorist groups. They recruit by using fliers, hosting rallies, and by using word of mouth. They look to add white, Christian adults who personally oppose anyone that isn't like them. The group was definitely effective during their peaks, which occurred around the 1870s, 1920s, and 1960s. They often used times of uncertainty and change, to rise to power, such as the Reconstruction period, WWI, and the Civil Rights Protests. Today, the Southern Poverty Law Center "estimates that there are between 5,000 and 8,000 Klan members, split among dozens of different - and often warring - organizations that use the Klan name." (1) Their overall goal is similar to Hitler's as they are looking for a purification of the American population in which everyone who isn't white should either be killed or not be here. And lastly, they are not supported by anyone outside their group, which is a major reason why they are not prevalent today and why America's population is as diverse as it is
The Ku Klux Clan, notoriously known as the (KKK), was first established as a social club. As time progressed, the clan became an underground movement dedicating itself to violent acts of terror. The clan’s primary goal was to repress Republican leaders and voters, both white and black, in attempts to restore white supremacy. The Federal Government attempted to step in and intervene but consequently failed in their attempts.
There are many hate groups that operate within The United States. One of the oldest hate group is The Ku Klux Klan (KKK). In 1970 the Ku Klos Knights of the Ku Klux Klan was formed. There are several Klan’s throughout The United States. One in particular operates in Missouri. There are many Klan’s throughout The United States. Most of these groups operate in the south. There is also mission and message these groups try to convey. Although the KKK used to be known for their violence, the KKK KKK is knowing for condemning violence. The group now usually has little to no impact in the communities due to their shrinking numbers and prevention intervention social workers throughout the states have had on the group to mitigate their
There are few adults in this country who have not heard of the terms “Mafia”, the “Mob”, or “Organized Crime”. Hence, there are probably as many opinions of what these terms mean as there are people who know them. Over the years, my perceptions about organized crime came mainly through Hollywood productions or news accounts of criminal activity. Overall, I have had a disapproving opinion of organized crime. I would say that for the most part my perceptions prior to enrollment in this class have been verified by the realities presented in the text, other readings, and videos. However, there are of course significant disparities between my knowledge and the actual facts of the groups.
White supremacists embraced the term ‘Aryan’ advocating ideologically driven white supremacy. Hitler manipulated Darwinism in order to avoid any further contamination of the Aryan ‘master race’. ‘Aryan’ in Nazi ideology was an individual considered racially superior. (Bergman, 1999) The AB combines the violence of a Prison gang, the power and money of organized crime and Nazi ideology. (The Aryan Brotherhood documentary, 2014) New recruits are schooled in Nazism and the superiority of whites. However in order to gain control over criminal enterprise, gangs form business alliances. (ADL, 2002) For the AB “…Organized crime comes first and white supremacist ideology second”. (ADL, 2013) The AB forged an alliance with the well-established Mexican Mafia for ‘business.’ The AB subsequently gained power and reputation. (Morales, 2013) The use of non-white business associates has initiated hostility with other white supremacist
Organized crime groups are usually made up of members with similar ethnic backgrounds (e.g., Italian Mafia, Irish Mob) with the prime objective of seeking wealth and power. In the 1920’ during Prohibition, Organized Crime were instrumental in illegal alcohol sales. The success of Organized depends on an extensive peripheral network. That peripheral network involves bankers, politicians and law enforcement; ergo, these portals revolving around business activity protects the core of organized crime (Stratfor, 2010).
Despite several aggressive efforts by law enforcement agencies, organized crime continues to be a serious social problem (Lyman & Potter, 2014). It is important to understand organized crime and its effects on society. Therefore, this paper analyses the definition of organized crime, law enforcement agencies response to organized crime, and the importance of understanding this form of crime.
Organized crime can have a huge effect not only on individuals, but also on a whole economy due to the black market and its illegal operations. Organized crime also tries to penetrate into legal businesses to strengthen the overall organization. Organizations members and the organizations itself, increases its legal money by investing in power and influence which thus givens them comfortability and a sense of feeling secure (Verhage and Ponsaers, 2009, p.407). Since, individual make up a crime family or organization, one cannot just look at money laundering on a group level, but must also look at those that make up the group and help earn a profit for the organization, they are a part and play more an important role than the organization as
There is no stronger incentive than fear. Clans and secret societies are everywhere; Lawyers, police man, business man, politicians, life insurance sellers, car sellers and real estate agents are just some examples .The difference between them and the Ku Klux Klan is the aim and the means used to achieve their objective. The Klan’s aims is “by force and terror ,to prevent al political action not in accord with the views of member ,to deprive colored citizens of the right to bear arms and of the right of a free ballot ,to suppress the schools in which colored children were taught ,and to reduce the colored people to a condition closely allied to that of slavery”( Levitt ,
