The qualities of Otto Frank throughout the play, “ The diary of Anne Frank” by Francis Goodrich and Albert Hackett. Shows how he can be considered a good leader. Qualities of a good leader include integrity, patients, and passion. For example, Otto has shown great order and patients by constantly setting order in place with 8 people including him living in a small place. He also showed integrity by making the decision to let Mr Dussel stay even though he tried to steal some food when everyone was sleeping. Leaders are people that strongly believe in their beliefs and know what is best for everyone. Being a good leader also includes being able to lead other people and to have enough courage to do so. The pandemonium that took place with the
While in hiding, Anne Frank was closed off from the world as she was not allowed to leave the “Secret Annex”. To pass time Anne would read books and wrote in an autograph book she received for her 13th birthday, the book in which she used as a diary described her life in hiding, her various thoughts, and relationships with the members of the Secret Annex in which Anne was hiding in. Before going into hiding, Otto Frank had notified a few of his most trusted workers where they would be hiding. The workers would shortly visit the annex to tend the Franks with necessities such as food and gave news of the war. Although life was hard, their survival from Hitler’s regime seemed promising until in a sudden sad turn of events, one of Otto’s workers
Furthermore, a key component in convicting Frank was an emphasis on the fabricated rumors of his perverseness and sexuality, something that was feared greatly in Atlanta (Lindermann 239). This fear of Jewish sexuality arose from the myths of sexual proclivities of Jews who could violate the south’s pure and vulnerable white women (Lindermann 239), and the media understood that the south was extremely protective over their white women, which allowed for them to further implicate Frank of his guilty verdict and disruptive fixed nature as the truth. A girl who would work in a factory was “to make a prostitute of her” (Melnick 49) and the public pushed a narrative that stated that Mary died protecting her virtue, giving up her life “rather than
Frank, Mrs. Frank, Margot Frank, Anne Frank, Mrs. Van Daan, Mr. Van Daan, Peter Van Daan, and Mr. Dussel. There were two characters that were not hiding but helped the group their names were Miep and Mr. Kraler. The evil in this group was how they treated each other when another was at fault. In the play, Mrs. Van Daan let Anne wear her nice fur coat that she got from her father and Anne accidentally got some milk on it. She got mad at Anne but that is reasonable but she was angry with everyone else for no reason which is not fair towards the other people in the house. The good in the group would mostly come from Mr. Frank because he was a leader towards the group and tried to solve all the problems. A part of the play Mr. Frank tried to reason with everyone so that they were all happy and would stay happy in the Annex. Although there were lots of people in the Annex they all tried and cope with each other in a reasonable matter.
A character I would consider a best friend is Otto Frank , because of his generous nature. Otto Frank is considered as a strong leader and role model in Anne’s eyes. He is very highly respected by Anne and many others. When hiding in the secret annex, Otto provides protection and care for many people. The story takes place during the Holocaust when the Nazis invade Europe. War is soon to break out and the Franks, a Jewish family, are greatly threatened by the current events. Bound with many restrictions many necessities are poor quality , scare or not available. At this time , the Franks, like many other Jewish families , suffer the threat of concentration camps . As the situation is getting worse, the Franks escape Nazi clutches many times.
If Mr. Van Daan wasn’t in the community at all, the Franks probably would’ve had a better chance at survival through the annex. This play takes place with 8 people hiding away in an attic to be safe from the Nazis, this is all happening during World War two. The title of this play is The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Good and Albert Hackett. Mr. Van Daan was business partners with Mr. Frank and they were exceptionally close, yet he is still an egocentric and greedy man. Despite how the Fanks welcome Mr. Van Daan into their home, he still betrays the trust their trust by being selfish and greedy.
A good leader is someone who leads or commands a group and has an open mind for others opinions. Ralph from Lord of the Flies, is a great example of this. At the beginning of the story, Ralph picks up a conch and blows into it like a trumpet to call all the kids on the island. This is an ideal example of being a leader, Ralph makes the decision on regrouping with the other survivors to help each other. Another example of Ralph being a good leader is when the little ones and everyone was all wild and uncontrollable Ralph calms them down and directs them to help them survive. Throughout the book Ralph shows that he is a good leader.
Intro: How long can you stay in a closed area-one, two, or maybe even three days? Well, what about three years? As you can see, Anne Frank was one of those people who had to stay in an apartment for three years, hiding from the Nazi’s, just because she was Jewish. Anne Frank had a very reasonable quote that was quite agreeable. “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” After reading The Diary of Anne Frank I would have to agree with Anne and her quote. She went through rough times during the hiding, but she persevered through it. Throughout the play, there was a certain character that showed kindness and that was helpful, this person would be Miep. Another character that I would
Decisiveness is an essential quality in a good leader, according to 80% of the people polled by Pew Research Center. In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the boys who are stranded on the island demonstrates many qualities as they try to survive. Some of the qualities the boys in the group demonstrate are negative, but many are also positive. The boys who try to be the leaders often demonstrate confidence, knowledge, determinedness, and honesty; these are all essential traits of being a successful leader.
The mood of the characters has been directly affected because of the historical events that take place throughout the story. Mrs. Frank is feeling very down about the situation involving the war, when she states, “Think of the thousands dying in the war, every day. Think of the people in concentration camps.” (Goodrich, Hackett, 164) Whenever Mrs. Frank thinks negatively about the situation, Anne gets very frustrated with her. She does not believe that anyone should be thinking with a fixed mindset at a time like this. She expresses
The end of, “The Diary of Anne Frank”, her father Otto Frank was talking to the women that helped them in the annex, Meip Gies, after finding out Anne and Margot had died. Miep gave Otto the diary and while Otto was reading Anne’s diary he saw that she wanted her diary to be published. So I think the sequel of, “The Diary of Anne Frank” should be about her father, Otto Frank, coming to the conclusion to publish her diary like she wanted and what he went through publishing it. Also how he is dealing with the lose of his whole family.
Otto Frank is an inspiration to many. He came back from a concentration camp only to find out he was the only one that survived in his family. Otto Frank was born on May 12, 1889 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He had three siblings, an older brother named Robert Frank, a younger brother named, Herbert Frank, and a younger sister named, Helene Frank. Him and his family were considered liberal Jews. Liberal Judaism is a modern form of the religion. Miep Gies states this in her autobiography: “The calm one, the children’s teacher, the most logical [...] When a decision had to be made, all eyes turned to Mr. Frank” (Stichting). Frank studied art at the University of Heidelberg. After being given an offer by his brother, Frank moved to the United States in September, 1909. Unfortunately, Frank had to return on
In The Diary of Anne Frank, there are many characteristics of Mr. frank. you can figure out most of them by just reading the book and looking at the scripts and quotes. by reading the diary you can tell that Mr. Frank cares about his family by leaving his home and his job. " Mr. Frank you cant leave here! this is your home! Amsterdam is your home! your business is here..." This show's he takes risk to protect his family and friends. Caring is one of Mr. Franks
She wrote in her diary recording event by event, she wrote to the name “Kitty” suppose to be a friend. With five family members, Otto Frank (Father), Edith Frank (Mother), Margot Frank (Sister), Buddy Elias (Cousin), and
What I believe makes a good leader is a group or person who takes responsibility. Who manages their own tasks and makes time to get things done. Encouragement would be another characteristic of a leader to encourage as a team not a group to strive for the best and keep others moving along. Another good trait would be Trust, without trust it’s hard to get by and trust the other to get tasks done and accomplish the same goal. Each of the qualities is the
A good leader needs to have many particular characteristics. Some of these are obvious, such as that they care about what you are doing and always puts you before themselves. Also another trait of a good leader is that they always keep promises they make. Some of the subtle attributes of a good leader are that they do not hide behind bad news. Moreover, they are easy people to talk to and they have a good if not excellent sense of humor.
