Ötzi is an ice man of the Alps: not found until 1991. The glaciers in the Alps have been rapidly melting, causing many more discoveries, including Ötzi. He is over 5,300 years old, becoming the oldest mummy ever, being preserved by freezing. Archaeologists discovered a wound in his shoulder thinking that was the cause of his death. They later discovered an injury on the back of his head; this being the more probable cause of death. The excavators were careless with his body not knowing how old he really was. Ötzi’s body was covered in about 59 blueish black tattoos, perhaps the first evidence of acupuncture. The Capacocha is a sacrificial ceremony for children with perfect looks. The discoveries of the bodies lead scientists to believe
Richard Leonard Kuklinski, known as “The Iceman” was born April 11, 1935. Kuklinski was a contract killer who was convicted of 5 murders. Kuklinski was given the nickname “Iceman” for freezing a body of a victim to mask the time when the victim was murdered. Kuklinski lived with his wife Barbara Kuklinski and 3 children in the suburb of Dumont, New Jersey. Prior to his arrest, his family was apparently unaware of Kuklinski's double life and crimes. Kuklinski was a contract killer for Newark's DeCavalcante crime family and New York City's Five Families of the American Mafia. Kuklinski favored to murder people with sodium cyanide since it killed very quickly and also was hard to detect. With Cyanide, Kuklinski would simply kill the victim by either injecting the cyanide in them, putting it in the victim’s food, aerosol spray or spilling it on the victim’s skin. After killing his victim, he will dispose the body in a 55-gallon oil drum. Other ways Kuklinski would dispose the body were either burying the body or putting the body in the trunk of a car then having it crushed in the junkyard. Kuklinski says that Robert Pronge, nicknamed “Mr. Softee” has taught him different methods to use cyanide to kill his victims. Pronge allegedly asked him to carry out a hit on Pronge's
Otzi is a mummified body that was found near the Otzal apes. It was preserved in the ice. Otzi is one of the only preserved bodies that is almost completely preserved. Even after all of that time he had no special treatment to help preserve. It was preserved for about 5,300 years. He was found in 1991 by a couple of tourists on the Italian/Austrian border.
What is the actual cause of Otzi the Iceman’s death? Using information from different websites I was able to get different theories from different archaeologists and forensic radiologists to help me decide how Otzi died.
Otzi, the 5,300 year old Iceman that was found on September 19th, 1991 was brutally killed in battle on a mountain. This theory is correct for many reasons including the injuries and where they are, how severe the injuries were, and more. It is also correct because in an article it had said “showed his death was violent, not the result of drowning, hypothermia or a fall.” proving other theorems incorrect. There were also two wounds in the Iceman’s right hand as well as his right wrist. We know this because the archeologists had said “he was stabbed while trying to defend himself with a dagger against an attacker” and if Otzi was really using a dagger then the attacker must have been closer and would not have had to use an arrow. There also
Otzi the “Iceman” was struck with an arrow in the back and was hit or hit his head on a rock and suffered a serious blow to the head by someone he knew. MRI scans show that he was shot with an arrow and was lodged in his back. This shows he was being followed and shot in the back then the killer pulled the arrow from his back. The Iceman had blood clots in his brain that suggest he suffered a blow to the head which could have been deadly shown by an MRI scan as a strange anomaly. This explains why his head was on a rock and how he could have potentially died. Otzi was found with fresh opened wounds and scars on his hands. This could mean that Otzi had been in hand to hand combat with someone he knew. The evidence shows that Otzi was killed
Found in the Alps between Austria and Italy in 1991 Ötzi’s death has been a mystery for years. When they first saw the mummy, they thought it was a modern day hiker that died of hypothermia, however as scientists came in they concluded that it was a mummy a 5,300 year old mummy, that was freeze-dried by the freezing weather. No matter what they did, they could not figure out how the once-alive man died.
So, who was Ozti the Iceman? Apparently he is the oldest known mummy of a man that was found in the Otztal Mountains of Italy, which is where his name comes from, in 1991. Otzi’s body was surprisingly well preserved when he was discovered and was thought to be a very recent carcass so scientists took him in to further study on exactly who he was. They discovered that he was 5 feet 2 inches tall, seemed to have been healthy and in shape, and had very many tattoos. The scientists have also found that Otzi comes from the Stone Age. They have also found that he was about 40 years old when he died and lived around 3,300 BCE. Learning more about Otzi has assisted in learning about the ancient world not very many people know about now.
In 1991 two German hikers found a body stuck in the ice of Italian mountains. When the body was first found they thought that he was just another victim of a hiking accident. After further investigation, they concluded that he wasn’t just another body, but in fact a 5,300 year old mummy. The mummy was named Ötzi after the Ötztal Alps where he was found. Although scientists know how he was killed, they are still speculating why he was murdered. Scientists do know that he was killed by a 24 inch arrow in his back that caused him to go into cardiac arrest. The arrow was shot from 30 yards with 50 pounds of force. There are many theories on why he was killed. One theory is that he was sacrificed but there is one major flaw in that theory. The
Imagine a world with no trees, no healthy grass, no glaciers, or no living creatures at all. The cause of this tragedy could be the increase in heat in the Earth’s atmosphere due to global warming. If global warming continues to increase, the world will be left empty. The Earth has been around for a long time, and many feet have walked on it, but no one has walked on this Earth without trees, grass, or creatures. With global warming, the Earth’s meteorology gets too warm, and all of the glaciers will start to melt. Global warming occurs when an increase in the carbon dioxide levels causes the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere to rise. The Earth’s meteorology is often a subject explored in literature. For example, “Chronicles of Ice” talks
The thesis of the film “Chasing Ice” is to portray the extreme climate change we are facing today. The film has a clear goal of showing visually the danger we are causing our planet by denying climate change. The aim of the film is to show us visually that climate change does exist and it is happening at a rapid rate. The film does a good job at providing evidence that climate change is happening, by capturing footage of the changes occurring over short periods of time. These videos captured by James Balog’s recording devices make it almost impossible to deny climate change and that is precisely the purpose of the film.
The complexity of the case meant I had to draw on a large range of social work skills to facilitate my engagement with the service user and carers and to complete my recommendations for panel. My Skills strongly developed throughout the process of assessing the service user and carers and they were acknowledged by my practice assessor.
Ötzi the Iceman is the oldest naturally preserved human body ever found. Because of Ötzi, we can touch and almost see into the very distant past. We can imagine the lives led by our human ancestors. The discovery and study of Ötzi enables us to look back through time and glimpse an ancient world.
There were many similarities and differences over the book and DVD. Lots of them were full of shocking surprises and twists. The Call of the Wild is mostly about a dog named Buck that goes on a journey through the wilderness. He faces great dangers along the way. He is also traded back and forth thru multiple people.
The huaca was the sacred shrine or god and they were all about the Inca Empire. The children were chosen by the emperor about one year prior to the Capacocha
The documentary Iceman Murder Mystery was about a stone age mummified human found in 1991 by hikers in the Italian Alps. Otzi the stone age human is about 5,300 years old and is the oldest human found still intact. The documentary is mostly surrounded by scientists finding out what kind of life this human had, how he died, and what his DNA looked like. Scientists only had 9 hours to go into the mummified remains and extract DNA, try to look at the murder weapon lodged in the iceman's shoulder, and look into his stomach without destroying the remains (Iceman Murder Mystery). They also looked at the items found on the iceman to see if that had any answers into the iceman's life. They found a shoe on him, a copper axe, a knife, and arrows that
