I stepped out of the hotel and walked to the rental car with my older brother Sean. Me and my family are in California for summer vacation. We’ve never been to California, so it’s a nice break from Washington. I’ve only left Washington two other times, the first time was my Aunt’s wedding in Georgia. The second time was when we took my brother to Boston University. Usually, my family comes to Washington to see us, so it was weird to leave.My parents were already in the car when me and Sean got there. We were going to see my Uncle and his new wife and kids for dinner. Their house was about an hour from the hotel. “But-” My dad interrupted her and said, “Liz, we’ll talk about college later, okay?”
“Thank you, Dad.”I put my headphones back in and started thinking about college. Even though I didn’t want to, it was in my head and I couldn’t get it out. I’m good at a few things but there’s nothing that I’m in love with. There’s nothing that I want to invest my life in. I like music and art and other things but I’m not great at them and they’re not something that I look forward to doing. I love listening to music but I don’t sing. I don’t know what I could possibly do in the music industry. And art? I’m not really an artist. I can’t draw or paint but photography has always interested me but I don’t even know if I’m good at it. I’ve tried it but I don’t think it’s something I really want to do. I’m definitely not an actress and I don’t play sports either. There isn’t much for me to do. I’ll probably end up working in an office. Or maybe I’ll be a housewife. I don’t know. I really don’t want to think about this right now.When we finally got there I saw Laney and Presley playing outside. My uncle, George saw us drive up and waved. After we parked and got out of the car we hugged everyone.
