Imagine you're a happy kid whose life is about to change. Everything you're use to is gone and the boy in class who you thought maybe wasn't that bad at first turns out to make your life miserable. In the book Our Twisted Hero by Yi Munyol, Han, our protagonist, is the twisted hero. Han is the twisted hero because although he gives up at a point, he takes down Om, our antagonist. Though not by himself but it all leads up to it because of him.
Han realizes Om is the bully in the classroom, to expose Om, Han tries to tell the teacher. "'Has there been any problem between you and Om Sokdae? This time however you don't have to raise your hand, or stand up, or shout anything out. Don't sign your name, just write down on the exam paper whatever it was he did to you'" (45). It's clearly shown that Han tries to stop whatever is happening on in the classroom. However, when he sees no one is writing anything on their paper, he realizes breaking the manipulated bond the boys have with Om will be a tough challenge.

He discovers Om's biggest secret at why he's such an excellent student. "I watched Pak Wonha intently, He kept stealing glances at the supervisor. Suddenly he wrote a name in the spot he had just rubbed clean, and to my utter surprise the name was Sokdae's" (75). While it was nearing the end of a two hour exam, Han looked over at Pak and he noticed Pak was erasing his own name and replacing it with Om's. After the incident, Pak explained how Om chooses the best student in that subject to take the exam for him. Sweet revenge was just placed in Han's hands and if only he could catch Om, it would put an end to the power he
“The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure” (57). Two men that lived for their passion for adventure was Chris McCandless and Jay Moriarity. Chris McCandless was a young man who hitched hike to Alaska to explore and survive in the wilderness. Jay Moriarity was a young surfer who was determined to ride Mavericks, the largest waves. Chris's story was heard by a man named Jon Krakauer and Chris's story was developed and published into a novel for the world to hear, which got controversial feedback. Although both seem to come from very different lifestyles and had different pursuits for adventure, both share many qualities such as home life, preparation for goals, and the willingness to let people be there for them.
In the novel Between Shades of Gray, by Ruta Sepetys, a teenage girl named Lina Vilkas is thrust into the Holocaust by the unforgiving NKVD. This novel tells the tale of the little-known side of the Holocaust that took place in the Soviet Union and Baltics. The book follows Lina through long weeks in cattle cars, many months of fear in the camps, and near-starvation and death in Siberia. Throughout the novel, Sepetys expresses two main themes: wisdom can be gained by observing ignorance, and traumatic moments lead to strength.
In the book The Chosen by Chaim Potok, Danny, a Hasidic Jew, is raised without communicating normally with his father. Even though Danny expresses interest in secular topics his father traps him in religious studies, restricting his thoughts and relationships. However, after a baseball game, Danny gains a new friend called Reuven, who is central to Danny’s mental transformation. By meeting Reuven and his father, Danny’s religiously restricted outlook on his future and life changes to be more forgiving, and he gains freedom in exploring topics other than religion, releasing him from his religious trap.

In The Things They Carried, Tim O’Brien, author and Vietnam War veteran, combines his own experience with war and embellishments of those experiences to create a depiction that accurately conveys the reality of war. The background of the character Tim O’Brien resembles that of O’Brien himself. Both are young men out of college who live in small towns and are drafted into the Vietnam War. However, the story of Tim O’Brien the character does not directly follow O’Brien’s life. O’Brien did not run away to Canada and meet a mysterious yet hospitable man who makes him realize that he is not brave enough to follow through by following his own personal conscience. In the novel Freak the Mighty, author Rodman Philbrick uses two middle school best friends, Maxwell Kane, who is known as Max, and Kevin, who people call Freak, to show that family is not always what it seems. They go through many adventures together, such as crazy quests, facing the people who bully them and helping each other with their weaknesses. They have have had many ups and downs, but whatever happens by the end of the day their strong bond brings them back together. Although they may have a weird friendship, the two boys have a bond like no other. Their story shows that family is determined more by one’s actions than by blood.
In Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye, the main character, Holden, had many opportunities to learn life lessons but every time his faulty thinking caused him to focus on the problem and not the solution. Whenever Holden looks at situations he negatively overgeneralizes them with a bad attitude rather than learning from it.
However, Mr. Frederickson ignores Russell to continue on trying to navigate it without him. The purpose behind that is to show some sense of strength, as an old man he won't exhibit super strength or any sort of power like Mr. Incredible, but instead he exhibits the old saying that with age comes wisdom; within that scene that is exactly what “strength” he is showing. Mr. Frederickson wants to show that he is strong and capable enough to get there without help. However, as the movie progresses his vulnerability becomes more visible.

The Stranger by Albert Camus follows the story of a man named Meursault, who received notice that his mother had passed away. Unlike many of the superheroes characters, Batman possesses no powers .Bruce Wayne trained himself intellectually and physically .it is from dedication to training he possessed the useful traits of physical prowess, martial arts skills, detective skills and indomitable will to fight for justice. Though his motive is to combat crime and protect people of Gotham city from criminals, the justice system in most of the times views Batman as a villain and vigilante. He can inflict fear to Gotham city criminals thereby bringing calmness to the city.
