Out of the 21 quotes on the paper we were given, this quote was the one that stuck out to me the most. The quote tells you to find the best in everyone, because nobody is truly terrible. Everyone has some good in them, and they deep down want to do good in their own way. It’s up to everyone else to take their time to see that in other people. I always try to look for the best in everyone, although it may be hard. Some people think I may be a little “over optimistic” towards people, or too nice. I often romanticize the idea that there is a little bit of good in everyone. But, if you look close enough, you will see it; the good is there in everyone, no matter how little may be present. You can see the good in people through their motives, actions,
The way the world is surrounded by technology, not being able to understand technology is difficult but not “death in life”. Today, almost anything on paper is easily accessed on a laptop or smartphone. However, if you're technologically illiterate, you still have access to everything on paper, you just may have to look harder for it. In the text, Carole says “Now I can read, I can read books, anything. I can write. In English and French.” When I read that quote, I think of Carole's troubles when learning to read on paper, now she has to learn all over again on a laptop. Personally, I find it very hard to read off of a smartboard or laptop and I can only think of the struggles coming Carole's way in the 21st century. Some challenges could be,
History is events that happened in the past to impact the world. Anyone can make history, but the events of that history have no impact unless one writes the history down. The quote “Any fool can make history, but it takes a genius to write it” explains how history is truly made. The quote means that any person, no matter how uneducated they are can make history, but it takes a highly educated person to make history and make the event known. Anyone can make history because history is the events that happened. For example, one can make history by eating an apple, but that won’t be known because eating an apple isn’t a significant event to the world. When one eats an apple, it’s an event that has happened, but it isn’t a very great event to other
Steinbeck wrote about many different characters who are full of dreams which sadly none of their dreams came true. Everyone has a big dream that would like to accomplish one day but sometimes , when we get lonely our dreams don’t come true. Through these characters John Steinbeck shows the effects about true loneliness.
What I Think: I really appreciate this quote because of its overall message regarding basic morals of a person. I feel like people who live their life in a way parallel to this quote are the most successful ones, as they are not afraid to suffer in order to achieve their goals.
a.This passage adds to Beah’s message reminding people to try to be the best person they can be. This quote advises people to strive to make others happy not only please themselves. This section lays it out obtrusively telling the reader “to be good to others” and that is one of the most important life lessons to learn.
Every day I aim to exemplify a good character, and to be the best role model that I can be. I achieve this by keeping a positive attitude, no matter the situation. This tends to rub off onto other people and increase the general mood of the environment. I also try to always seem approachable, as I always never want someone to dislike or avoid me. I think one of the most important character traits that I show is that I give others respect, and treat them how I would want to be treated. A simple yet very effective rule that our parents teach us when we are younger. I show great loyalty, as I always stick to my word. I try my best not to judge people before I get to know them, as I would never want to be in that position. I feel that it is very important for me to be the best person that I can be, because I want to show people, and teach them how they can be a better person, so that we can all live a better, and happier,
First off, I really liked your response due to the fact that I also addressed this question, and I was able to gain a different insight from your discussion board on things I did not include in my response. For instance, the way you explained how first point of view gave strength to the overall idea of history brining pride to many Chicanos not only showed great analysis, but also supported your argument regarding the character’s strong identification with his culture. You use a quote to support your answer and further analyze the quote and speak about the effect cultural heritage and history has on the person Joaquin is.
Steve Jobs said “the ones, who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” This saying mean person who effort and creative to their work, they can shape the world their desires. Person who want desire the world they need work hard enough and assert itself. In the Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell write 11 chapters about success and to become an outlier, people who practice 10,000 hours to become a success, people who have a different cultural legacy they can change their life and to become an outlier, and people who effort they can change disadvantage to advantage. Although Malcolm Gladwell assert “if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desire”, people can success their self, people who practice 10,000 hours than they can success, cultural legacy change their life and to become an outlier and when people effort hardly
"When you're out there partying, horsing around, someone out there at the same time is working hard. Someone is getting smarter and someone is winning" by Evan killham. I enjoy this quote because it teaches me how to use my time wisely, and to work hard in everything I do.
This quote is found in first part of the book in chapter two. I chose this quote because this relates to me, if I put effort and hard work I can do. Just like if Pi he did not any put effort he would have not become a good swimmer but he did same with me even if it is towards my academics or extracurricular, you still have put the same time and effort no matter what you are doing you can accomplish with right mindset. Also, I know that it is hard work but in the end you will be glad that you put effort and time. When I compete for anything I want to give 100% whatever I am doing.
“To be successful you have to be selfish, or else you never achieve. And once you get to your highest level, then you have to be unselfish. Stay reachable. Stay in touch. Don't isolate.”
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
“ Accept and respect we are all diffirent.” says 105 best quotes. Imagine Growing up in the slums in a small city in Uganda. Or in a war zone in Siagon, Vietnam.
“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
“In spite of everything I still believe people are truly good at heart.” Anne Frank wrote this quote in her diary. I do believe that people are truly good at heart. Though sometimes people don’t do the right thing, people are generous towards each other, even during bad times. People take care of each other and help each other when they need it. When things are bad, people try to have an optimistic attitude.
