Out of the ten Learner Profile characteristics, I consider the “Thinkers”, “Open-Minded”, and “Principled” to be my strongest. First, I love thinking through complex problems and getting down to the core. I’m very observant and alert. Forensic psychology and analytic studies fascinate me. Second, I love learning about different cultures and their unique histories. I believe it's wrong to discriminate against other people and their culture. Instead, we should embrace our unique differences. Also, I love to travel to new places and try new foods. Lastly, due to my Catholic faith and love for others, I love justice and compassion. I take responsibility for my actions despite the consequences. Out of the ten Learner Profile characteristics,
My strongest characteristic related to the article "Tips for Successful Students," (Lake and von Baeyer, 2005), include the fact I am a very responsible individual. When in the classroom setting I always strived to find a seat in the first couple of rows, because I knew I'd benefit from avoiding anonymity - and this stemmed from being responsible and accountable for my self
Learning styles can and will reflect personalities and have a substantial impact on your professional developments. Understand which style is needed and best suited for your learning process and the ways you absorb information, it may one particular or a combination of a few. Effective learning and effective thinking will help increase the speed of success and is necessary to continue learning to have a greater understanding of the work we do to be competent and influential to you and the organisation's wealth and have a competitive edge on the rest of industry in this fluctuating market and all styles are just as important as the other. Visual style include observing in random orders of pictures, diagrams and demonstrations, displays, films
Finally, my last characteristic (and my most important, personally) I enjoy helping people. Whether to be with homework or a personal situation, I am always willing to listen and help people accordingly. This is why I’m going to major in music education and minor in psychiatry is college; sharing knowledge and advice is something I’ve always succeeded at and been fond
I demonstrate good character by being respectful towards my peers, myself, and adults, and I obey the rules and regulations set forth by my school and other organizations. I am honest and truthful when asked questions, even if I know I have done something wrong. I accept constructive criticism willingly and graciously, as well as build off of it. I am reliable in a sense that I follow through with tasks that I have taken on, and am friendly and helpful towards my peers.
According to Richard Step, my top five strengths are faith, purpose, integrity, determination, and risk taking. I am very faithful, because I align my values with the values that are a part of my work place as well as my Christian beliefs. Along with being faithful, I am very purposeful. I like to stay busy and attend any meetings or events that has purpose of me being there. Also, I do not like any slackers. Besides being purposeful, I have a lot of integrity. I stay true to my commitments. I do not like to rush because I value quality. I am a self-starter and require little supervision. As well, I value flawless ethics. Furthermore, I have a lot of determination. I am determined to get things done and improve on the feedback others give me because I value feedback and what others expect from me. Finally, I am a risk taker, because I try new things and don’t worry about the
Ally Drames and I are still observing together in the same two classrooms, the Competent Learner Model (CLM) and the Reading Specialist, at Concord Elementary School in the Garnet Valley School district. This journal entry will summarize and analyze my observations from week three, March 8, 2017, to week six, April 5, 2017, in both classrooms. From week three to week five, Ally and I have observed in Mrs. F’s CLM room from 8:30-9:30 am and then Mrs. B’s Reading Specialist room from 9:30-11 am. Although each teacher’s daily routine is exceedingly cyclic, the behaviors of the students in these settings have progressively begun to change, both positively and negatively. During this report, I will be referring to the individuals mentioned with
My personal character can be described as driven, analytical, and honest. The driven nature that I have pushes me to finish any task no matter what challenges I come in contact with. Moreover, I motivate those around me to finish and reach their goals so that not only I succeed, they will too. The mindset that I have is analytical, which allows me to view things in very reasonable perspectives. My analytical mindset and honesty will help me succeed not only in college but in life too; when I need to make a serious decision that can’t have any emotional input into it I will be able to accomplish
The strengths and weaknesses that I am now able to see are most clearly described in the five-factor model. A key strength that I hope to always carry with me is a relatively high level of openness. This is characterized by open-mindedness, interest in culture/educational experiences, and being imaginative and creative. These are traits that I consider a big part of myself. As the daughter of a German immigrant, I find that I do not fully integrate into either culture and this helped spring my fascination with studying cultures. I actually added a minor in religious studies because I want to better understand and see the differences and similarities that people share and I believe that religion is a major key in understanding the values that form the basis for cultures across the globe. This open-mindedness and knowledge of other
If you or anyone were to ask my closest family and friends for unique characteristics about me it would mostly like be leadership, helpful and imaginative. My main unique characteristic is leadership and I feel like this will help me get into UCF. Throughout my entire life I have always been taught to be my own person and to never let people’s words and judgment change the person who I am. I have always had my own opinions and I always supported them. I try to be the leader of a crowd and I try to hear other people’s ideas I feel like in order to get something that you want done you have to be the leader. Once, you are the leader you can hear other people ideas and combine them with yours. Being a leader means to help yourself out as well as others. Whatever mistakes you make as a leader your followers will learn from them. People would describe me as imaginative because I like to think outside the box and I like to get my hands dirty.
The purpose of the display below is to illustrate the results of my Personal Learning Profile in a column chart. The numbers noted on the x-axis reflect the numerical representation of numbers in the most natural zone of the PLP (this is because all of my scores were ranked in the most natural zone). To read the rankings on the display, start from the number 26 at the bottom of the x-axis (which is the ranking that indicates where the most natural zone begins) and read upwards. The y-axis displays the five listening approaches (which I will summarize shortly) of my PLP according to page 3 of my PLP report, as well as how they each individually rank, the primary rankings are displayed first, followed by the secondary rankings.
I would like to state that every characteristic listed is extremely important. The two that I view most critical are " inquirers" and " caring." It is stated in the profile that inquirers nurture their curiosity, develop skills for inquiry and research, learn independently and with others, and retain their love and enthusiasm for learning throughout life. Those that care show empathy, compassion and respect, have a commitment to service, and act to make a positive impact in others and in the world around them.
Last, but not least, I possess the eagerness to learn. I am willing to persevere until I excel in a skill and I ask questions until I comprehend as much as I can. I am dedicated to continuous learning as procedures, medicines, and technologies are always
The attributes of the learner profile that I will use are inquirer, thinker, reflective, knowledgeable, communicator, and principled. I will be an inquirer by asking questions for mine, my peer’s, and even teacher’s learning experience. I will be a thinker and reflective by answering my own and my classmate’s questions. I will be a communicator by communicating with others to learn the most I can. I will be knowledgeable by learning all of this new information about my country. I will be principled by keeping others on task as well as myself to learn everything I possibly can. I will do this because I should know what happened where I live and it’s important to learn about this for the future.
After taking the online learning style quiz and reading a description of what auditory learning is all about, I am convinced that I am an auditory learner. To be honest, I was quite surprised when I saw my quiz results but then when I thought about my learning habits and I compared them to an auditory learner, I could see that the quiz was fairly accurate.
Thinking of who I am in terms of personality is frustrating yet challenging. It is frustrating due to the uncomfortable fact I see not only the characteristics I like but the ones I cringe at. My obsession with solving all the problems in my life allows me to overcome impossible obstacles deemed unconquerable to the hopeless individuals in my life. The effect of that drive to overcome can also debilitate me to inaction until my brain can formulate the perfect solution due to fears of failure. There is also the desire to become wise so I never feel or inflict pain in my family’s life. This desire however produces self-examination so intense I end up a total buzz kill to any joy that happens upon me. My only escape from overthinking conversations, challenges in relationships, and being a goal-oriented workaholic is found in a worship or in nature devoid of people. The only place I can rest in the peace and presence of God. I can cast all my cares and worries on Jesus. Holy Spirit usually tells me in these moments what thoughts to let go and gives me clarity on how to handle my self-inflicted anxiety. To every trait that makes me who I am is a challenge to show and receive love from others. However, there are three character traits that most accurately describe the best parts of my personality.
