In the USA, outsourcing is thought of as a bad, 'dirty' word, spoken about in hushed tones and secrecy amongst upper-classmen and business moguls. As stated by W. Politicians give people their false assurances and empty promises to stop it, and businesses feel the need to down-play their involvement in it. Setting up and operating a textile factory for example, comes at a fraction of the comparable cost back in the USA or UK. Also, these businesses simultaneously look to amplify the quantity and type of products/goods on offer to their consumers, of which, many of them are also offered by their partners and competitors. In turn, this has tended to gear such businesses to ruthless cost-saving exercises such as redundancies, cutting existing workforce etc. Consequently, traditional corporate 'red tape' goes out of the proverbial window and things take a turn for the worse as companies compete to offer the latest and cheapest products to the masses, sparking an almost all-out-war amongst them. The result of this is; staffing, health and safety, and regulatory adherence all find themselves taking a back seat to profit margins, and usually it is to areas of the world where needs or necessities sadly, almost always get trumped by prudence and vigilance. All this, in the name of 'saving a few bucks'. The outsourcing of non-core business and services has risen in recent years. The top benefactor of this rise has been India. Corporations have found a profusion of well-trained, English-speaking workers to cram into call centers and customer service jobs. This is even happening in high-skill positions like hospital X-rays technicians also. India is seen as the pioneer in outsourcing jobs
