To achieve this task a team must first discover and overcome the five dysfunctions of a team. According to Lencioni (2005), “Dysfunction #1 Is the Absence of Trust: Members of great teams trust one another on fundamental, emotional level, and they are comfortable being vulnerable with each other about their weaknesses, mistakes, fears, and behaviors. I suddenly began to experience teachers come in anywhere from one day to one month leaving abruptly without notification. Finally, a teacher came to me in tears expressing the torment that she had gone through under the leadership of my assistant and her clique. My assistant had the tension level extremely high; none of the teachers outside of her clique trusted each other. One teacher came to me crying hysterically because she felt that her co – teacher had stolen her keys. All five dysfunctions discussed by Lencioni were evident and operating to their full potential under her leadership. After almost ninety days I relieved my assistant and eventually her clique from their duties. This experience taught me a valuable lesson. It takes a team to make a business grow; the goals of a staff should be unity shared respect and values. REFLECTION One question that concerns me about Overcoming the Dysfunctions of A Team is that there is not much focus on Christian leadership. According to The Holy Bible (KJV) Matthew 6:33 “ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. I believe that intellect is a key component to the success of a business. However, the supernatural good success in anything that we acquire comes form God.
