CMA CGM Group is an internationally operating shipping company and plays a vital role in the transportation business industry. Originally founded by Jacques Saadé in 1978, the company is headquartered in Marseille, France. CMA CGM, which occupies more than 20,000 employees worldwide, operates globally in more than 160 countries with a vast network of over 600 agencies.
The shipping company serves 170 shipping lines operating on every one of the world’s seas. Its fleet consists of 467 vessels each having different dimensions and purposes with capacities ranging from 133 up to 17,722 (Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit) TEUs. Their purpose is to deliver reliant, on demand, and competitive service to customers and enterprises.
CMA CMG does also operate a vessel with the IMO number 9348704 under the flag of the United Kingdom. CMA CMG FLORIDA was built in 2008 by HYUNDAI HI and is deployed in the Caribbean of South America. Delmas, ANL, CNC, MacAndrews, USL, and COMANAV are subsidiaries of the shipping company.
The beginnings of the world leading enterprise started in the early 1970s with the formation of the Compagnie Générale Maritime in 1973. In the following years, the initial company underwent many mergers and transfers of shares in order to stay competitive.
