Lucintel, a leading global management consulting and market research firm, performed a Political, Economical, Sociological, Technological, Legal, and Environmental (PESTLE) analysis of India, and presents its findings in “PESTLE Analysis of India 2012.” India is the second-most populous country in world, and its large reserve of human capital is crucial to the nation’s economic development. Its growing, technically skilled work force draws international players to locate facilities there. The service sector is the major contributor to Indian GDP and the leading driver for economic growth. Industries in the service sector, including information technology, telecommunication, and retail, are major segments that contribute to India’s economic expansion. Lucintel’s report indicates that although the inflation and unemployment rates, which are both higher than planned, remain major challenges for Indian economy. The expanding middle class in India’s urban area is likely to help fuel India’s future economic growth. Political cohesion and economic reform program by successive governments, such as the opening of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to more industries, are expected to offer growth opportunities. One major threat to the Indian economy is political instability. The economy has huge potential, but a certain level of political uncertainty hampers growth. National elections

India has a highly dynamic and entrepreneurial business environment (Ford, 2011). The freedom of democracy in India supports the country’s private enterprise greatly. India’s characteristics of sovereignty could very well succeed China’s Communist led, authoritarian growth model (Schuman, 2012).
India’s economy is one that appears to be on the brink of a major recession. Their central bank has made bad choices over the last number of years. This has lead to a low growth within the country and a high inflation rate. They changed their political leadership to someone who was more open to change and reform, but this has not come about. India reformed its tax system, which they believed would be the key to success in the country. This in fact caused the opposite. The economy slowed down sharply. They banned the sale of cows in India due to religions reason and this stopped the growth of agriculture as this was a huge export for the country. India has about 12 million new young people enter its job market each year and finding jobs for this vast quality of people is a hinderance for the country and yet another driving factor for lower growth. India expects the initial impact of their tax reform to be over and now they will see a stabilization of their economy. It is believed their economy will now grow in small increments due to this stabilization.

. Whole Foods Market might have experimented with the co-CEO position because of the opportunities it can create for the company. For example, having co-CEO’s will allow Whole Foods to have more ideas on how to better the company, how to expand it, or how to implement their main message of healthy living and environment to their target market. Also, co-CEO will decrease the responsibility and pressure that a single CEO will have, which will allow them to work more efficiently, and add value to the company. Whole Foods decided to go back to one CEO because what they want to refocus mainly on the growth of
