Pablo Picasso was one of the most recognized and popular artist of all time. In Pablo’s paintings and other works of art, he would paint what he was passionate about and you can see his emotions take control throughout his paintings and other works of art. Pablo Picasso works of art include not only paintings but also prints, bronze sculptures, drawings, and ceramics. Picasso was one of the inventors of cubism. ” Les Demoiselles d'Avignon” is one of Picasso famous paintings; this is also one of Pablo’s first pieces of cubism. Picasso went through different phases in his paintings; the blue period, rose period, black period, and cubism. It shows a man on a horse at a bullfight. Picasso’s second painting is called, La première communion (First Communion). He was fifteen years old. Later on at the age of 16, Pablo Picasso went and further his education at Madrid’s Royal Academy of San Fernando. Unfortunately, this school was not fit for Picasso. Carsten-Peter Warncke wrote an article called “Pablo Picasso Biography” In this article it states, “Picasso dropped out of school in Madrid not because he thought he did not have anything to learn anymore, but because the teachers in Madrid couldn't help him solve the technical problems he had”. Even though he dropped out of school Picasso used his own perspective of reality to paint. After dropping out of school Picasso moved to Paris with Carles Casagemas, Carles was Picasso’s roommate and a close and dear friend. Picasso‘s work was not popular, and he was unable to make an earnings from his paintings in Paris and moved back to Barcelona. Picasso’s style of painting was about to change due to the death of his friend. While back in Barcelona, Picasso found out that Carles Casagemas committed suicide. Picasso was very upset and troubled by the death of his friend. In response to the death of his friend, Pablo painted "The Death of Casagemas," a portrait of his friend's head with a bullet wound. The painting has a blue tint to it. "The Death of Casagemas," is considered the first work of Pablo Picasso blue period.
