Pablo Ruiz Picasso created many historic artifacts. The artist got his well known name (Picasso) after his mother. This man born on october 25th 1881, with two sisters Lola and Conchita. His sister Conchita at the age of 4 fatally died. When Pablo was 8 his interests in painting started to get him into actually painting. Since the artist had such talent he then at the age of 5 got drawing lessons in Malaga, and his father who is an art teacher supported that in every way. Artistic Prodigy, is what people would call him, because of his unique talent. In 1900 (20 years old) he went to “Montmartre, Paris and bought his first studio with his friend (also an artist) Carlos Casagemas. They met in barcelona. Picasso then started to use oil painting which is a bit blurred to show movement, kind of soft pastel looking. Between the years of 1901 to 1904 the artist had a “blue period”. It was called that because of the different shades and tones of blue that he used in his paintings. During this time period his friend Carlos Casagemas passed away and it made him depressed and hurt. Not only did he paint this way because of grief it was also because of him not being the richest and blue was cheap at the time. Those colors were used to express sadness, grief, and sorrow. There were frequent changes of where he lived between Barcelona and paris in this segment of his life. “The Old Guitarist”, “Blue Nude”, and “La Vie” (meaning “the life” in French) are all artistic works that he created and completed in 1903 and are now the most known pieces from the “Blue Period”. During this time, he spent a lot of days in Paris studying the pieces in the Louvre and enjoying being with his friends and fellow artists. Picasso then started to get fascinated on the pink, greys, and highlighted tones which began the “rose period ”. During this time he enjoyed going to the circus to get inspired by clowns, acrobats, and large groups of families wandering around to go places.
