P.S. 38, The Pacific School, is part of District 13. The school is located near the up-and-coming Atlantic Ave/Barclay’s Center area in the Boerum Hill/Cobble Hill neighborhood in Downtown Brooklyn. It is a neighborhood school with grades ranging from Pre-K through 5th grade. The school is a testing location for the citywide test to the gifted program, and consequently offers scholar classes for students in the schools Gifted & Talented Program (G&T). And although the school is located near the busy Atlantic area on Flatbush, the blocks surrounding the school are quite. Across the street from all sides of the schools are trendy townhouses and locals walking their dogs, jogging, and parents/nannies pushing baby carriages. The school is a large …show more content…
83% of teachers say they would recommend the school and 83% say that the school is well maintained and students are disciplined. And based on my observations I would agree that the building is always clean and presentable. It’s obvious the staff works hard on their bulletin boards and hang the students work along the hallways and doors. And on the first floor there are large pieces of art created by the students as you enter the building, as well as student created art work in the main office. The staff and visitors bathrooms are well-kept and the linoleum tile floors are always clean and appears freshly waxed. I’ve never witnessed a fight or serious discipline problem in the classrooms I’ve observed, nor have I seen any fights or altercations among the students in the hallways or lunch room. So overall it appears as though the students are disciplined and clearly respect their school environment since they throw their trash in the appropriate bins, and even compost their leftovers (there is a bin located outside of the lunchroom during breakfast and lunch periods). Therefore, it doesn’t surprise me that this school is highly recommended by faculty and
In 1993, the Supreme Court decided on the case of Zobrest v. Catalina Foothills School District. Based on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), this case was pressed in Arizona by deaf James Zobrest and his parents who wanted a sign language interpreter, publically funded from the respondent, the Catalina Foothills School District (CFSD), to assist James while he was currently attending Salpointe Catholic High School. The arguments of this case were based on the First Amendment rights in the Constitution; the Zobrests claiming that the case was infringing on their rights from the Free Exercise Clause and the CFSD claiming that the case was unconstitutional based on the Establishment Clause (Zobrest v. Catalina Foothills School
To set the demographics, Lacy Elementary School is a 60-year-old neighborhood school. Originally built to accommodate 500 students, the school is now over capacity, reaching a high enrollment of 650 students. Located in an urban school district, a majority of the students qualify for the federal breakfast and lunch program. The district has recently experienced a new rezoning, and in result there are buses now bringing 200 students from the surrounding neighborhoods to the school. Lacy Elementary opens its’ doors at 7:30 a.m., although school doesn’t begin until 8:30 a.m. Teachers are not required to report to school until 15 minutes prior to school beginning, however, teacher assistants or paraprofessionals are paid a stipend to supervise students before and after school. Although they have this opportunity, there are only two individuals who have chosen to supervise in the breakfast program. To provide additional assistance, PTA volunteers and administration are currently helping supervise when able.
P.S. 69 and the rating of the school is an A grading. Most of the teachers in the school have a post- secondary school meaning most of the teacher's education is higher than a high school diploma. I say this because I asked my observation teacher and every teacher has at least their bachelors. There is one library in the neighborhood and it is called the Sunset Park Library. This library is open everyday except Sundays. They open from 10 a.m. To 8 p.m.

George W. Hewlett High School (HHS) is a comprehensive school with programs designed to meet the needs of each student. It is located in Hewlett, NY a small section of Long Island. In 1898, the New York State Legislature created Union Free School District No. 14, the Hewlett-Woodmere School District, to serve the educational needs of children residing in Hewlett, a large part of Woodmere. I moved to this district after eighth grade, where I completed high school. Transitioning from a small Catholic school in Queens to this very prestigious public school in Long Island was a seamless shift for me academically; however, not so much socially. Hewlett’s large student population, demographics, and environment were some factors that made my relocation
The school that I chose to write this evaluation about is High Tower Trail Middle School, located in Marietta, Georgia. This was the middle school that I attended, and as I look back on it now with the knowledge that I have gained, I can see that it really is an amazing middle school. With middle school being a major struggle for many young adolescents, High Tower Trail did so many amazing things in order to ensure students felt included and had a safe learning environment. High Tower Trail also had some things that they could have improved on while I was there. Some of the strengths of High Tower Trail had were that it was always changing, it was challenging, and gave its students equal opportunities. Some areas where it could improve would be to encourage more parent involvement, encourage teachers to be more involved, and have more teamwork between the students and teachers. I believe that in this case the strengths out-weigh the areas that need improvement, but no school is perfect, and in order to be a successful middle school, it must keep changing in order to keep up with the students learning within its walls.
Bingham Academy is a good school because you get more hands on activities, more teacher to student interaction, and there's a highly greater learning environment for students at Bingham Academy, rather than other schools. Things that make the learning environment so much better is the teachers actually take time to help the students, there's more interaction, the teachers make sure you understand the subject before moving on, and they help out in any way possible, they also understand if you're going through a bad time and are very helpful, kind, and understanding.
It is a good school that would see to enable educators to be equipped with information that betters the Indigenous
Although it may not be the biggest school, with the most students I think that gives it an edge over other schools. This small town school gives knowledge that goes beyond the classroom and opens doors in the community that

DCS is an exceptionally well run school. I attend the weekly resource center classes in my region, and have been thoroughly enjoying them. The teachers are just fantastic, and they really care about what they teach their students. The school has the general atmosphere of a healthy, organized community, and looking at the skills that many of the students there have portrayed, one can easily see that they will be well prepared for their lives after graduation. It is my opinion that
