Hi Adam, I have some heartbreaking news.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make to this Spring's Costa Rica/Panama Gap Semester. As hard as I tried, and trust me I really tired, I can't afford the trip even with the scholarship.
I'm afraid I was a bit dishonest during our interview earlier this summer when it came to talking about my family. Although I made it seem as if I had a fairly good relationship with my parents, it wasn't the complete truth. Long story short I have to move out of my house a lot sooner than I expected to and can't afford to pay for the cost of living on my own and go on this incredibly amazing trip.
I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience I may have cost you and I sincerely hope that once my financial situations stabilize
Thank you very much for your time and I hope to be in contact with you again in the near future.
Hello Jennifer I apologize for the late response unfortunately I will not be able to attend GCU this fall due to my disability the University was not able to make accommodations I would not be able to commute. Despite the amazing scholarship and the wonderful staff I cannot move forward with enrollment. I sincerely thank everyone who tried their best to assist me. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
If I’m to be quite honest, I’m taking a big risk by simply applying to this program. I’ll go ahead and make it clear that scholarships and loans are absolutely necessary for me to attend. Though my parents do support the idea of studying abroad, they do not have the finances to send me this spring. Though willing to pay a couple menial, miscellaneous costs, I’m solely responsible for any costs not covered by my tuition plan, scholarships, and loans. Doable, but difficult, I’ll
On November 5, 1873 Panama school was formed in paper, and later constructed and established in 1875 a mile west of its current location. This was also the first county school. Unlike present times this school had only an enrollment of 11 students and a three month term. Ms. Whitaker was the first teacher at Panama school. The benches were made by the parents and could only fit three. Only two towels were allowed and the mothers took turns washing them. Water was hauled by teachers and students, and used in small portions for washing hands. The teachers were also the janitors. The Stine School District was established in 1900 just north of Panama District.
When we came back from spring break i was on the baseball team this is a big surprise because surprise because i am bad at the game. When our first practice came around we were talking about fundamentals of the game. When i was listening i was confused because he wasn't making sense nor was he giving us the right information. One example is when you dip you shoulder and hit a pop up you dip your back shoulder and he said you dip your front shoulder.
Thank you for returning my call this afternoon. I appreciate your help in all of these pressing matters.
I really liked that Kimbrough saw the idea of speaking up than to keep silent about the situation. Her story could and will for sure help the others just because she spoke on something she felt the need to be adjusted. The article black student holds protest after getting rejected from the university of Michigan, also pointed out that the university saying that each student's application undergoes several holistic reviews on which to consider many factors when determine whether a student is he right fit for the institution. It also pointed out that the university negotiated with blacks’ students as far as back as the 1979, stating that they will work on the numbers of minority enrollment to 10%, but 44 years later, there is still no changes.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to talking with you soon.
For the past three years, I have spent two weeks of my Summer break in the city of Espanola, New Mexico. According to KRQE News 13, Espanola is allegedly the most dangerous city in New Mexico, with one out of nine people having a severe chance of becoming a victim of a crime. The children of Espanola are the ones most affected by the devastating crimes taking place in their city every single day. Although we may come to believe that the one out of nine people is nothing more than a simple statistic, those numbers include the only family that these young kids have. Grandparents, parents, and aunts/uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters.
Thesis Statement There is no doubt that the building of the Panama Canal was a major feat in history that has made a huge impact on the way many countries trade with each other. It was a great struggle to complete but it also was very rewarding. The Land Area The Isthmus of Panama is about 50 miles wide at its narrowest point.
The culture and political structures of Panama as we know it today has evolved from an incredibly diverse and interesting history. Geographically, Panama lies on an isthmus, a strip of land that essentially connects the greater landmasses of North and South America. It is believed that volcanic activity in the late Pliocene era closed the former Central American Seaway that had separated the two continents. The climatic implications of this landform are incredible, allowing for the redistribution of oceanic currents and the formation of the Gulf Stream of the Atlantic of today.
My interviews were conducted over the phone with two women whom I could not imagine my life without. The first being with my childhood best friend, now 19-years-old, whom I met at eight-years-old after I moved to Haines from Fairbanks, Alaska. We have remained best friends to this day. We had to try fairly hard to conduct a serious interview, but we were able to cover all of our ground in 10 minutes. My second interview was with my father’s ex-girlfriend, now 61-years-old, who I have the utmost appreciation for. She has only been in my life since 2014, but considering she was a large part of my 18th birthday, senior prom, and high school graduation, I could never not consider her a member of my family. She was more direct in her responses, so our interview lasted only 5 minutes.
Central America Central America, just south of Mexico and North of Panama, consists of just six countries; Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Of those six, all share a distinct common history except for Belize. Belize for one is incredibly small, and while Spanish is the official language of other Central American countries, in Belize English is spoken. So throughout this paper as I carelessly say 'Central American' I am not including Belize whose history and development was far different than the others. Although Central America is located close to the United States in relation to the Eastern Hemisphere, our ways of life are indescribably different.
The canal was the best thing that ever happened to Panama. The Panama Canal was started under President Roosevelt and completed by his successor, William Howard Taft. The canal was built across an isthmus, a narrow body of land that connects two larger land areas, which connects North and South America. In some places in Panama the isthmus is only 50 miles across. The French started the canal in the late 1800’s. They had just built the then famous Suez Canal with relative ease. The Suez Canal, unlike the Panama Canal, was a straight canal on level ground, in a relatively dry climate. The French had failed in building the Panama Canal because of the tropical climate, in which deadly tropical diseases consumed their
Costa Rica is a very beautiful and unique place. It was my first time going there and I loved it! It was much different than the United States in ways I didn’t mind or even enjoyed. We saw many things and went many places while we were down there. I am ready to go back again already and do new, exciting things. However, we did a lot while we were down there.
