Panic Disorder: A Psychological Study

An anxiety disorder that I found interesting to study was the panic disorder. Many disorders could stem from a multitude of reasons, including biological, psychological and social, but I found this \disorder, in particular, to be unique, because the "panic disorder does appear to have a biological cause" (Licht, Hull, Ballantyne 487). Research has demonstrated that particular portions of the hypothalamus in the brain have revealed responsibility for panic attacks in certain people. The hypothalamus is the part of our brains that is responsible for the "fight or flight response" (Licht, Hull, Ballantyne 488).
