Most people today have visited or at least heard of the popular tourist attraction, Seaworld. These tourists may think of it as a place to see marine animals do trick, like killer whales interacting with humans in a fun and entertaining way- but do we ever stop to think about the treatment or feelings of these creatures? After visiting Seaworld and seeing the famous Shamu, the thought of how living in captivity affects the animal had not crossed my mind. After researching I am now extremely concerned with the way these whales are impacted by spending their lives in bathtubs and forced to do tricks for food, all while humans are blindly funding this billion dollar business.

If you have ever seen Finding Nemo you might remember when Marlin and Dory venture into the deep sea in their search for an address on a pair of goggles. As they dive into the deep they are entranced by a bright light in the darkness. Unfortunately, though, this light was attached to a hungry angler fish. Like most deep sea creatures the angler fish looks scary and strange, especially when compared to the animals that we are used to. Deep sea creatures may seem odd, but their appearances are there for a reason. The way these creatures look, along with other adaptations help them to live in their extreme underwater environments.

The motion picture we are applying or using is Pixar's "Finding Nemo". Our hero would be Marlin, the timid clownfish who lives safe and secluded in the colorful and warm tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After the devastating, life changing event when starting a family, specifically when a hostile fish devoured his wife and all his unborn kids, Marlin had been a cowardly, cautious individual who lacks socialism and simply "can't tell a joke". He limits, rescues, protects and controls Nemo, and expectations are low for Nemo's ability, due to his disability. He is somber, worried and agitated about every detail in Nemo's life. This is where the hero must get through different obstacles before the transformation. They may cross a hardship along the way. After the fifth stage, Marlin and Dory are spit up by the whale and thrown directly towards the dentist office where they knew Nemo was being held by different clues along their journey. But the area where Marlin and Nemo had to go was surrounded by swarms of birds, in which was very dangerous because birds eat fish. It all started with one fish who decide to touch the ¨butt¨. One fish at school got challenged to swim out and touch the bottom of a boat. With no fear in mind, Nemo went and touched the boat. Nemo thought he had an easy victory when something happened and changed his life forever. Nemo is the son of a brave dad named Marlin. Marlin suffered a miserable loss of his wife and all their children. Nemo is the only family member Marlin has left so Marlin pledges to keep Nemo safe at all costs. In the film ¨Finding Nemo¨ the author Andrew Stanton uses good and evil through the journey to criticise how we as humans value the love we have for are family members because we share a strong bond with the people we enjoy.

The purpose of this essay is to watch the movie and try to view the main character from three personality theorists’ perspectives. In the movie Finding Nemo, Marlin was a clown fish who lost his son, Nemo, in the vast ocean. Along his journey to find his son, he ran into Dory, a blue tang fish who suffered from short term memory loss. Dory provided moral support and comfort in this search that Marlin has been missing for years. This essay will analyze Dory in the movie Finding Nemo through Carl Rogers self-actualization theory, Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, and Friedman and Rosenman’s personality behavior type.

On his pursuit he meets a blue fish named Dori, who has a memory problem. She undoubtedly is annoying to Marlin and he gets very impatient with her when she continues to repeat herself. Against his better judgment he agrees to let her help him find his lost son. For the next few days, as the movie goes, they have several encounters with other marine wildlife that according to Marlin are dangerous. First they encounter three sharks which are known to be solely meat eaters but they join the sharks and spend some time with them that show them that not all sharks are that way but some feel that fish should be thought of as "friends, not food" as the sharks like to say. With this knowledge he begins to trust more of the other sea creatures that he did before.

Nemo’s ID is him wanting to show his friends he is brave by going away from the safety of the reef and out into the open to go towards the boat. His ID is created from the defence mechanism of denial and the core issue of fear of abandonment. He suppresses the idea that going to the boat is dangerous. This stems from the core issue of fear of abandonment. Nemo worries in the morning that he would not fit because of his injured fin. Once he does find friends, he wants to do anything he can to continue their friendship. As soon as his dad got mad at him for playing where he should not be, he goes all the way to the boat to prove to his friends that he is brave. This is irresponsible because he is directly going against his father's orders and into a dangerous situation. If Nemo listened to his father when he said it was dangerous, he would have been with his father when the people came and as a result, he would not have been captured by them. While he’s standing at a train station he must decide between running for his mother or staying with his father. This decision will make him live out many alternate timelines. Mr. Nobody is currently 117 years old and tells his life story during three major moments in his life: at age nine when his parents get divorced, age fifteen when he first falls in love, and age thirty-four when he’s married and has children. Although some may find Mr. Nobody, written and directed by Jaco Van Dormael, too strange or confusing, the captivating plot and complex themes leave the audience with an important message about the choices people make.

“Just keep swimming” has been my motto ever since I watched Finding Nemo in first grade. Even after the hundreds of books, movies, and television series I have read and watched, I still relate to Dory the best. When I first watched Finding Nemo, Dory stuck out to me because she was so optimistic. Like Dory, I am very optimistic about life, and I like to spread optimism in my environment. Being optimistic has dramatically improved my life.

This undersea movie is introduced with a married couple of clownfish admiring their new home by the drop off. The movie Trolls is about cute, colorful, tall-haired creatures fled the mean, miserable Bergen’s, who can only feel happiness when they eat trolls. The trolls have forgotten to be feared by the Bergen’s because it has been at least 20 years since the Bergen’s last tried to get the colorful trolls.
