The two famous creative thinkers that I choose to present is Steven Allan Spielberg and Cornel Ronald West. An individual in the entertainment industry that many may think isn’t a “typical” leader is Steven Spielberg. I believe he is a leader in the film industry because he tends to address important issues on the big screen and also through his philanthropy. Born December of 1946, in Ohio, Spielberg is a screenwriter, director, and producer. Spielberg’s rise to the top wasn’t easy but it made him the powerful leader he is today. After many rejections from film school, I would have given up, but Spielberg didn’t.

I want to work with celebration cinema because as some one who really loves film, and would like to go into it I value the work that goes into maintain, and running a haven of cinema. I've spent days of my life completely at a movie theatre, seeing films, and the only people I've interacted with are cast members. They were all very kind, and supportive. So I would like to give back to cinema, and to movie theatres in anyway I can.

For the week of October 2nd, the assigned reading that I reacted most to was the Video presenting people with their DNA results. I found this video rather interesting and surprising. The one story that stuck out most to me was the man that was adamant about not liking Germans and came to find out, he himself is part German. I think this video is important for people to see because it teaches us that you need to know yourself first before you develop prejudices and biases. It is also important because it shows that we all think we know what we are and what our genes hold, but unless you get a DNA test or have solid proof, chances are you are a mix of several different ethnicities and races. The story of the American motion picture industry begins with the eccentric ‘photographic artist’, Eadweard Muybridge. In 1872, Eadweard Muybridge was sought out by former governor of California and railroad tycoon, Leland Stanford, because of his expertise with the camera. Stanford thought that if Muybridge could capture equine motion in a series of photographs, it would be possible to discern whether or not all four of a horse’s legs were simultaneously aloft at any point when running. However, initial series of photographs taken by Muybridge was unsuccessful in resolving Stanford’s query.
