1. If I died tomorrow I wanted to go ice-fishing (which has always been a dream of mine), and also learn how to do ballet.
I would practice ways to free my mind from my body. I would evoke a memory, I hold dear to my heart, of the sun setting-–giving off a pink and blue coloration on the coast of Bar Harbor, Maine, while finding seaglass with my brothers and sister. I would have a very different outlook on life than before I was diagnosed with locked-in syndrome. I would try to pass the time by getting lost in my thoughts.
I would trade places with Zendaya Coleman. She is an actress, a singer, and a dancer. Zendaya and I both share a passion for dancing. She was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, and I could only dream of actually doing that. Since Zendaya acts and sings, she does not have a problem speaking in front of a lot of people, but I struggle with speech anxiety. I would love to just walk out on a stage and not be scared of talking for even a second or freeze up and cry. I am trying to get better at speaking this year starting in school. I would love to perform and dance by myself on a stage and not be afraid. Zendaya is also an amazing actress. She stars in one of my favorite movies Spider-Man: Homecoming, and she stars in the musical The Greatest

The challenge of this assignment was to carry out a unique, extended metaphor. The biggest challenge that goes along with an extended metaphor, is ultimately trying to carry out the metaphor itself, throughout the assignment. It is challenging to find little examples within each overall metaphor to compare to each other. For example, in my assignment it was challenging for me to pick apart the game of water polo, and try to compare the events that happen in a game to the events that happen in a battle. Another challenge was coming up with a unique, extended metaphor. It is always tempting to use a generic metaphor, however it is beneficial to find a unique metaphor to use.
