Plagiarism is when you copy someone else’s work. It is also when you take credit for someone else’s work that is not yours. You can be fined for plagiarism. It is a felony. So don’t get caught plagiarizing.
You are six years old, freshly woken up, haven’t even brushed your teeth yet. You rush downstairs to the basement, quickly cozy into the couch, and turn on the TV. To your amusement, your favorite show is on—The Proud Family. Your attention is captivated by the television. You begin to sing at the top of your lungs, “THE PROUD FAMILY, THEY’LL MAKE YOU SCREAM, MAKE YOU WANNA SING..” and so on. Why is it that you are so infatuated with this show? Is your gratification satisfied by the cultural representation that of course a six year old would not understand, comedic entertainment, or subtle lessons? Whatever the case may be, the show keeps your eyes glued to the television for the next thirty minutes. The six year old child, you are imagining
The media creates television shows that appear to be reality however they are not and when looked at, it is easy to see. I will be discussing the relationships between reality and reality TV, satire, and documentary.
A Clean, Well-Lighted Place is my favorite Hemingway story, so I wrote a parody mocking Hemingway’s masterful dialogue in the piece and other Hemingway characteristics. I took a careful look at the story and remembered a quote by Hemingway describing his writing process at a café in France. The quote reads “It was a pleasant cafe, warm and clean and friendly, and I hung up my old water-proof on the coat rack to dry and put my worn and weathered felt hat on the rack above the bench and ordered a cafe au lait. The waiter brought it and I took out a notebook from the pocket of the coat and a pencil and started to write”. This quote inspired the old man in my parody to be Hemingway at his favorite café engaged in his writing process. The story of my parody is essentially a story of an elderly Hemingway seated late in his favorite cafe writing while the two waiters gather the courage to ask him to leave.
Out dated or damaged residential electrical wiring can pose a risk of home fires and personal injury. This risk can be reduced by having an experienced electrician from Prime Electrical Service rewire and upgrade the home's electrical system. Here are some things you should know if you're considering a whole-home rewire.
For my satire project, I chose the topic of the struggle of customer service and how it can influence you psychologically. The reason I chose this topic was because I am in fact a part time worker at a fairly busy ice cream/ fine chocolate shop in which our primary goal is to keep the customer happy and satisfied. But sometimes, the process of doing that can be challenging and draining for the employee, such as myself. Therefore I chose a topic that I felt passionate about and that I could physically relate to, which helps to make my writing more effective.
To mock us in a satire way that we are the same way. What Klosteman is attempting to accomplish is that we are all the same, no one wants to stick out from a group of people. We never necessarily realize what we do, when we are doing it. If we don't take control of what we are actually doing, we might just end up like zombies.
Sheelah Kolhatkar begins her article, Amazon’s New Supermarket Could Be Grim News For Human Workers, with the beginning of Amazon purchasing Whole Foods which caused an outrage in society the article says that many people were questioning if this was a good choice since Amazon is an investor to robotics and modern technology. Kolhatkar continues her article by talking about how six years ago Amazon bought Kiva, a company that creates mobile robots, and with those mobile automatons they saved millions of dollars in more details, there would be less employment for many people. Sheelah Kolhatkar then introduces Daron Acemoglu, an economist at M.I.T. who studies labor market and automation, who says that automatons help retail workers do complex
Thrilling, mysterious, and psychotic are all the words to describe the ABC’s new show, “The Family”. As most dramas and thrillers may have it, the show centers around finding the kidnapper of Adam Warren- the child that has returned after ten years of disappearance. Two questions to be asked is: “Who truly is the kidnapper?”. and “Is this kid actually Adam Warren?” Answers to these questions show at nine/eight central, when the series airs on ABC, Channel Seven ("ABC"). If a television isn’t available at that time, you can always stream it online 24/7 or wait for it to go on Netflix. The wait is definitely worth it. However, parental discretion is advised for viewers younger than 13. A younger audience might not understand the topics and

VIFF: Holy Air is a satire that delivers strong social commentary but lacks a comedic punch.
The next night as the concert was wrapping up Niall finished his speech then said Louis had an announcement. The stadium grew quiet as Louis walked to the front of the stage “Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of Larry Stylinson things going around and there is something I want to say about it.” He glanced over at one of the Modest members who was signaling for him to stop talking but he ignored him and looked back at Harry and motioned for him to come over to him. “How many people here believe Harry and I are in a relationship?”The crowd began cheering then Louis got them to be quiet again. He glanced at Harry then looked at the crowd “Well tonight I want everyone to know that we think it’s about time you all knew the truth. Make sure you get this
Big and fluffy, my furry friends long legs stand up to go outside. When let him out he prances to his toys and looks at me with his coffee colored eyes. Waiting for me to chase him, Arany’s long tail wags rapidly in the air. Chasing him I see his light golden ears flop around on his big head. Stopping to rest Arany sniffs my hands with his wet nose he sees that I have treats. Opening my hands I give him a treat and we go inside.
When Anne laughed, no one else could resist the temptation to laugh too, it had a magical appeal that was impossible to ignore, her lips spreading into a smile radiating mirthful joy and her eyes sparkling like a clear, starlit sky.
It was a normal afternoon, nothing seemed out of place. There was a new swivel chair in the garage, just recently added to my dad’s workshop. “My sister and I should go and try it out!” I thought. I darted down the hall to retrieve my twin sister Divya. “Come on Divya, Let’s go experiment with the new chair in the garage.” I exclaimed. We excitedly skipped down the hall and into the garage, both of us completely unaware of how dangerous these trivial chairs could be.
