PART 14 Mac left before the Sheriff or anyone else got to the center as he wanted to see how passable the trail was and if he could take the any vehicles up the hill. It was the smallest vehicle they had and it might make it. In several places, the trail wasn’t wide enough to take the quad so he gave up the quad and walked up. The distance to the site Jackie described wasn’t far. Damn, he didn’t want her on this trail in the first place, not because he knew anything was wrong with it, but because he had three kids of his own and on a hot day like this, they’d want to be in the creek, not walking beside it. He didn’t want any of the kids to get hurt, and twenty one kids were a handful to look after, even for Jackie. Too soon, he noticed the …show more content…
He did find the back packs but didn’t touch them as they would be considered as evidence by the Sherriff. As he walked further up the hill he thought he saw the mummy Jackie described hanging from a tree. That’s as far as he went as he remembered the grisly horrors that lay ahead as Jackie had described them and didn’t relish being alone when he found them. Mac was a pretty tough guy but he felt that this would turn the stomach of the most macho of them all. He decided to ride back and wait for the Sheriff’s officers to get to the Visitor’s Center. He would lead them up and do as they requested. He didn’t want to disturb any evidence at the site either. It was going to be a mess up there as so many people would be coming up, plus they had to cordon off the trail and the entire area until the investigation was over as well as block. He didn’t want to go up with anyone so hopefully they could handle everything without him, but he suspected that he would be there too. Mac had a roll of yellow ‘caution’ tape with him so he used it to cordon off as much of the area as he could to keep people out and to not disturb the area as he was afraid that other hikers would walk
Caleb walk in front of the group and asked everyone individually, “ let's take a vote to go in the forest or to head back the way we came” they took the vote and going through the forest won so they started off into the forest and Daniel hesitated but walked in,afraid of being left alone at the mouth of the forest. When he got back to camp, Winston thought it odd that many of the tent doors were open and things seemed to be in a mess. What was even more odd was the fact that no one was in the camp. As he examined the scene more closely, he saw that several people had even left their shoes. "Everyone here must have left in a hurry. What were they running from?" thought Winston.
After visiting the courthouse and checking up on new leads, Iris finally had a moment to sit down at her desk. She was finally feeling like her old, healthy self. The cold was officially gone. As she opened up her notes she began typing vigorously. The current story was a high school student who had just passed because of a h*** overdose. She could not believe that such young kids in her city were dying at the hands of drugs. Moments like this made her appreciate Joe's strict parenting and the absence of her drug addicted mother. As much as Iris liked to keep an objective perspective when it came to her work, sometimes she could not help but get attached to the personal lives and stories. Today for instance, she visited the courtroom for the
The stake glimmers in the rising light. It’s clean now. I washed it the same time I washed my clothing. The blood didn’t wash off my shirt though. I look at my reflection in the blade. I haven’t seen bruising on my skin in the reflection, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. I finger my neck again. It’s sore to the touch. I couldn’t see my reflection well in the water’s tint, but in the knife’s reflection, I can almost pretend the gold colors are from the metal alone.Last night’s nightmare is still behind my eyes—of the terror of Alexis inside the statue—not dead, but dying of starvation. I shudder. I slide my fingers along the transition from dark brown polished wood to gold. My cheeks flush and my lip curls as I think back to me begging Midas and sobbing. I can’t remember the last time I cried. An intrusive image of my mother’s cross and her shallow grave flash through my mind. I mentally vault away from it.“Chrys?” I almost drop my it at Amaru appearing at my side. I stand and shove the
“Did use the wand?” Mr. ED asked as he placed a plate in front of Titus. “Yes, I did.” The excited boy said, “And everything went better than expected.” “Hold on“, Mr. Ed said, “let me first fetch us some fresh water and food, then we can both sit and talk.”
The last time he came here was when he originally found it. He didn’t have too much time then, so he only got to
Knowing he had none of what it said in the letter, as well as having no idea what he was doing, he ran through the wall, which was unquestionably interesting, and got on the train, praying he wouldn’t get told off for his lack of preparation for the beginning of the school
John woke up to his screeching alarm at 5:30, slamming his hand down on the snooze button subsequently. “Fuck”, he bellowed in anger. He arose from his bed and rubbed his eyes as he entered his bathroom. John winced as he turned the bright light on, he grabbed a towel then hopped in his morning shower. He lathered up then rinsed off, doing the same to his hair. He dried off then headed downstairs and poured himself a cup of coffee. He turned on the tv, the news channel was showing live footage of a bus crash on the highway. He let out a snide laugh, “sucks to suck!”

Brief Summary: This is a book geared for children to start reading during second or third grade. Kristine swears that she will never be able to love a pet again, but how could she say no to such a cute face.
It was the summer of 2004, my family and I went down to Iowa for my cousin’s grad party. She lived on a farm on the outskirts of a small town called Buffalo Center. I remember roaming the farm, chasing the barn cats, and watching the pigs feed.
