I am sure you will agree when I say, Passion drives our actions. Someone said, “Passion is energy. The more passionate you are about yourself, your work, your life, or whatever it is you are doing…the more positive energy you give off. True happiness comes when you do what you are most passionate about. Passion shapes our existence, fuels the fires of inspiration and opens us up to opportunities and changes around us. Passion is enthusiasm and excitement for life. We see passion on display everyday; passion for sports, for our families, for the United States, for politics. Passion blinds us to the obstacles of what we seek to do. Passion provides the energy and determination to achieve our goals. To have passion for something, you have to know and love it. The same principle holds we cannot love someone we do not know. A passion for the gospel comes from love for and knowledge of God. In our text this morning, we will see the obvious passion of the gospel in the life of Saul. But before we get into the text, lets’ look back at the important points from last week’s text. We said God has high expectations for His chosen instruments. Every believer is a chosen instrument of God. He expects his chosen instruments to pray, to proclaim the gospel, to expect suffering, to obey Him and to be fill with His Holy Spirit. Immediately after describing the dramatic conversion of Saul, we see Saul’s former zeal for persecution turned into a passion for the proclamation of the gospel. I
