The downside of using community day as a solution is that kids are not reliable. As Paola Passafaro claims, “attitudes might play some role in affecting such kind of behavior,” she understands that there is much more to littering than a conscious decision (16). As a professor of social and developmental psychology Passafaro understands the difference between “active littering” and “passive littering” (16) because our behavior reflects such thought processes. When applied to the problem, the school within the neighborhood is Eisenhower Middle School. Kids at this age, between 10 and 13, like to believe that they have lives that are more important than the environment. Thus, if put to work in the program their results would be counter productive
