Pastor Mark is the minister of the church I go to. He has made my church a fun and supportive place to be . It would be great if every place was like my church. This year Pastor Mark is going to Uganda to help 536,610 refugees at a refugee camp.I would want to be Pastor Mark because I can help numerous people everywhere. My church would make blankets & hats for hobos. We would visit victims of cancer to support
One advantage of being the pastor of the larges protestant church in the nation is that everybody knows who you are. One disadvantage of being the pastor of the larges protestant church in the nation...is that everybody knows who you are. Okay, it's a big tongue-in-cheek, but the sentiment is real. Joel Osteen is the pastor of Lakewood Church is Houston, Texas. Lakewood actually is the largest protestant church in America, and few people don't know who Joel Osteen is. After all, Osteen has his own television show, has authored best-selling books, and was even interviewed by Larry King. What's the down-side? Not everybody thinks he is doing his job the right way, and they are getting vocal about it.
This philosopy of ministry is simply my personal way of doing things . In my view, every christian should believe the same primary, fundamental doctrines, however, not all churches and ministries should have the same style, or the same philosophy of ministry. Just as there is variety in the body, so the world needs all different styles of pastors, leaders and teachers. No one style will reach everybody with the gospel of Jesus. As you read the Bible you'll see that while God does tell a church what to believe and think, he never tells the church exactly how to operate. The church is free to creatively operate within biblical teachings and principles.

The world of country music can be considered as magnanimous to the what we currently now know as mainstream music. Though it is not as well-publicized such as pop, rock and R&B, it never ceased to flourished in selected parts of the United States, bringing it with an intense love for performing and the rich legacies strewn on by past and present country music artists. Whilst we don’t know much about who’s who on the current country genre scene, there’s never a smidgen of a doubt that all existing musicians who are trekking on this canopy are downright talented and passionate on what they do. Aside from humongous names such as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Taylor Swift, one person that floats within this genre is a man named Eric Church, and he’s about the blow everyone away by his mere talent and undying heart for music.
I never thought to be a Christian leader. As a matter of fact, I am a person who did not know about God for 26 years. I was the center of my life, and there was no room for God to enter. Even when I was attending church service, I was trying not to be exposed to other church people. In other words, I was the kind of person who was afraid to walk into a life of faith. However, in the past three years, God has changed me in many ways, and showed me so many miraculous things. And, finally here I am. Being a Christian leader seems the most challenging job in the world. I am working as the chairman of a youth ministry, and walking on the path to be a church leader. When God called me to work for the
Ever since I was six years old, the year I was baptized, I have been on fire for the Lord. I attended a Christian school for eight years and have always been very involved at my church. My first experience outside of my “Christian bubble” was when I went to a public high school. For the first time in my life, I was out of my comfort zone. Being at a public school challenged my faith, strengthened my leadership skills, and forced me to branch out and meet people I would have never encountered otherwise. However, even though being at a public school helped strengthen my faith in ways I would have never guessed, I believe attending a Christian university—like Liberty—is the best choice to further my education. Going to college is new and exciting, but it can also be a demanding and intimidating experience. Being so far away from home, in a different environment,
I am an ordained minister with the Centers for Spiritual Living out of Colorado. I have the title of “Reverend” but use “Pastor” because I take care of the spiritual needs of other people, whatever that may be.
In this paper, I am going to share my ideas of theology. I believe that one of the biggest mistakes I made in the past was that I was afraid of being rejected, so I wrote a theology paper and tried to give the previous COM what I thought they wanted to hear instead of what was truly inside of me. Fortunately for me, even though I was not given a green light in order to see the Eccleastical Council, I was licensed to preach and this gave me time
Albert Einstein once said, “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” This was reflected in my capstone project. I did something new, I made mistakes and I learned a lot. I learned how to be organized, write a paper using first-person sources, how to manage my time wisely, and about my chosen topic, Von Willebrand Disease. I also ran into multiple difficulties along the way. Despite all the struggles, I learned many things about writing, Von Willebrand Disease, and how to overcome struggles without completely breaking down.
The Sisters of Mercy were and are advocates for immigration in the same way as they are now as it was back in the past. In the past, the Sisters of Mercy opened up a house that was made intentionally to help out the poor people of the community. The house was also open to people that needed help fitting into their community since some of them came from different places of the country so they were not use to the new environment so the Sisters were there in order to help them adjust. In today’s society, the Sisters of Mercy changed their priorities a bit instead of helping all of the poor people which they still do they have decided to focus more on the matter of deportation and detention centers. I feel that the Sisters of Mercy are doing a
I have been working as a STEM Ambassador for my college for over two years and have had many opportunities to make a difference within the community and be a role model. I believe it is vital to expose science to children early on, so they can grow up being interested in science and postulate about how they came make a difference in the world. Growing up, I never had exposure to enough science coming from a house with no college experience, therefore it wasn’t until after I graduated high school that I realized what I wanted to study. I wish I could go back to high school and take advantage of opportunities to learn more about science, which has made me want to give back to the community by hosting opportunities for students. No one had ever
The ministry of Jesus began when Jesus was 30 years old, after his baptism in the river Jordan. Within three and a half years of his ministry Jesus did more miracles than any man in the world could have accomplished. He preached about the ways of changing lives and often gave parables to educate people. Even though he was rejected Jesus continued to spread the gospel in different cities around Israel, including Capernaum and Bethsaida.
"I am a 31 yr. old adoptee, I was adopted at birth it was prearranged prior to my birth, my sister who is 3 yrs younger also a prearranged adoption at birth...actually we were picked up by our adopted parents around six to nine weeks but my understanding is I was never with my birth mother I was either in the hospital or at the agency until they came to get us" ("Open Adoption").
Christian Tradition course exposed me to the Christian Tradition based on Biblical and church history. The course taught me the differences and similarities of Christian Tradition from other major world religions. I learned about the significance of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Trinity based on the teachings of the Bible. The course also briefly covered 2,000 years of church history but with emphasis on the impact of the Council of Nicea, Council of Chalcedon, and John and Charles Wesley on Christianity. The professor emphasized the importance of the reformation that sparked a revolution in the church.
I really enjoyed executing this interview. It was a privilege to be able to include my interviewee in my assignment, as he has been supporting my decision to further my education and proceed with my calling through Christ. Bill Kidd has been an associate pastor for over 7 years at Bethel Baptist Church. Pastor Kidd was in school at the same time as myself and we always were able to connect and relate to each other whenever we got together at meetings or other gatherings. I look up to and respect his achievement in ministry and I am looking forward to learning from him as I pursue my role in ministry.
