Introduction
As adolescent reach puberty varies changes takes place in the body. One such adjustment is the hormonal development of acne. At one point in time, all teenagers experience acne blow-out whether mild to severe. The purpose of the assignments looks at diagnosis, treatment, management, and cultural impact of acne. “The primary goals of acne therapy are the treatment of existing acne lesions, prevention of new lesions, limiting the duration of the disorder and preventing permanent scarring” (Lavers, 2014).

Treatment may take 10-12 years to resolve without treatment and disappear with age. Treating acne involves using several methods, such as Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) lotion or gel 2.5%, 4%, 5%, and 10% over the counter. BPO kill bacteria in the skin, and clean the pores while healing the acne. Apply a small amount daily, if no irritation occurs, cover the blemish and slowly increase to twice daily over several weeks. In four to six weeks, no improvement, then increase the medication from 5% to 10% daily and then gradually twice daily with improvement. If further treatment is needed, seek a dermatologist or pediatrician to assist with prescribing treatment. Medication such as, Tretinoin (Retin-A) 0.025%, 0.05%, 0.1% cream or 0.05 gel use in treatment of all types of acne. A synthetic Vitamin A that speed up exfoliation of the skin while firming below the skin. To use as maintenance therapy, and avoid in pregnancy or breast feeding mothers. Topical antibiotics solution for pustular acne is clindamycin, erythromycin tetracycline, and available 1% to 4% cream or lotion. Oral antibiotics such as Doxycycline 100mg daily for severe inflammatory process, and caution because of photosensitivity.
