Sharp uses a program called OnBase for patient registration. When patients arrive at the hospital, the admitting clerk scans their driver’s license and insurance card. Conditions of admission are displayed in electronic form and patients sign on an electronic tablet to indicate consent. Paper versions of patient registration is printed only when requested by the patient, otherwise registration is totally paperless.
The patient should arrive 30 minutes prior to appointment time to allow enough time for the registration process.
