Wrede portrays Cimorene, an extraordinary princess of Linderwall who doesn’t want to be under supervision, as a princess that does not think that the requirements of being a princess apply to her. Cimorene leaves the castle to go live with the dragons of the Mountains of Morning. Cimorene was not justified because if she marries Therandil Linderwall will become a prosperous kingdom. Also, It is apart of Cimorene’s heritage to become a Queen. Finally if all her family members were to die, there will be no royal blood would rule the kingdom. “My dear Cimorene,” the fairy said shocked. “It’s your heritage”(5). This shows that Cimorene is not willing to learn anything a princess is required to learn, but her fairy godmother states it is her heritage to inherit some of the kingdom and marry Therandil. By not following her heritage, Cimorene is, to some extent, bringing shame upon her family. This additionally shows that Cimorene is completely required to learn the proper etiquette and embroidery. The fairy godmother and Cimorene are in a heated argument about whether or not Cimorene should complete her responsibilities or do what she wants. “Boring, I want to do things not sit around all day and listen to the court minstrel make up songs”(5). This demonstrates that Cimorene wants to be the only one in her own business and not do anything that is royal or princess-like. Also, this indicates Cimorene appears to be be selfish or possibly childish. All in all, Cimorene is not exactly grateful for all that her parents have attempted to do for …show more content…

“You’ll be sorry for this! You can’t melt a wizard forever, you know! You’ll be sor...”(189). This shows that Cimorene should have stayed at the castle because the wizards now want Cimorene dead and want to get revenge on the dragons. Also, now that the wizards are going to come back she has to worry about the wizards and not focus as much on Kazul. In the story Cimorene just finished melting the wizards, but Morwen has some shocking news. “Morwen and I talked for a long time yesterday, and she says that melting a wizard isn’t permanent” (209). This goes to show that it is certain that the wizards will start recurring trouble . This also shows that the wizards will be determined to get back at Cimorene and the dragons.
