The person I have chosen as my hero is Paul Walker. Paul was a hero towards thousands of movie fans and car lovers, but nobody knew the other side that Paul contained. Paul is a humble, and kind person that cares more about others, rather than himself. Paul was not the kind of man to show off his wealth, or flashy cars. Walker possessed the qualities of a selfless, and caring man. An example of Paul’s selflessness, is when he bought a ring for and engaged couple that couldn’t afford it themselves. The ring that Paul bought for the couple was worth $10,000, and was the ring that the couple dreamed of having. The man that was getting married was a war hero who had recently fought in Iraq. Paul kept his identity secret, which means the couple
There are many different opinions and thoughts on what exactly makes a person a hero. In the case of the novel “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” by Junot Diaz, it discusses the recurring heartbreaks and traumatic times Oscar endures throughout his life. He is a very insecure person who has a strong desire for love. He tries his hardest to obtain this goal and many see him as a hero because he seems to never give up despite his failures. Diaz describes numerous instances where Oscar repeats his past mistakes causing him to look more like a fool than a hero.
How would you determine if some one was a hero or not? What characteristics would
These hero’s demonstrate many of the characteristics of a hero and they do so with dignity. A hero impacts all aspects of someone's life and leaves a positive impression, but there’s no limit to the amount of characteristics that could be used to define a hero.
A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities, according to Dictionary.com. Adam Brown and his wife, Kelley Brown, dealt with a broad spectrum of difficulties in their relationship that most people never have to face in their lifetime. Though they faced their fair share of hardships, Kelley and Adam overcame each one and became heroes in the novel, Fearless, by Eric Blehm. Kelley was a true hero from the moment she met Adam Brown. After falling in love with him, Kelley found out that Adam had a drug problem that he was working to overcome.
A hero can be like Martin Luther King Jr, a person who fought for people's right. These kinds of heroes put others needs in front of their own needs so the end result will be for the greater good for everyone. These heroes stride for a better world so humankind can live in peace and harmony. They are self-sacrificing
Heros… We hear on the news all the time that, this person is a hero for doing xyz, or this person is a hero of doing a different xyz; Well one author decided to write about a hero, a made up hero. This hero isn’t superman, or batman, nor does this hear even have a hero sounding name, to some people they can’t imagine this person ever being a hero because they don’t know him. This hero is Papa from the novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
Unsung heroes “Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity.” -Ricky Martin.
In nearly every book, the protagonist is portrayed as being the hero of the story. It could be a brave knight saving a princess, a bold leader winning a war, or just one person helping another. But for a good hero to rise up, there must be a problem to face. Christopher Reeve once said: “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”
Douglas L. Bieker is a perfect example of someone who i consider a hero. he provide more than enough for his family to give all of his kids an even chance at life, no matter their path. he donates his own blood every chance he can get. and he volunteers at the local fire station.
The most important trait all heroes must have is that their actions are for others, not for themselves, and they act selflessly. A hero recovers from their struggles determined to inspire others around them to be their best. Heroes can come in all different ages, races, genders, and personality types. There are many heroes around, even in everyday life. It could be a friend, a relative, even a coworker. In my case, it was my classmate Nick Kimble. Nicholas Kimble, also known as “No-Knees Nick,” was born at home in a kiddie pool. From a young age he was interested in Latin and would draw detailed pictures of famous Greek scenes, not unlike the renaissance artists. Naturally, he pursued Latin in his high school career, which is where I met
Beowulf; a man whose greatness begun when he saved an entire kingdom from the clutches of the vile monster Grendel. Beowulf was known for countlessly putting his body and his life on the line to save his people. His courage and determination is what kept his legacy alive for all of these years. Not only that, but the respect he had for the people around him made him a remembered warrior as well. That’s what I think makes a hero. Being determined to get a job done, having the courage to step in and complete that job, and having enough respect for your people to still obey their wishes despite your apparent fame. The hero I will be writing about is the fictional Marvel Comics character known as the Black Panther (real name T’Challa). He and Beowulf
Heroes care not only for themselves, but for others. In the White House Funeral Sermon for Abraham Lincoln, “...not for himself only, not for us only, but for all people in all their coming generations till time shall be no more…” This means that President Lincoln took risks not to ensure his safety but to make sure that he would be known as a doer. Lincoln knew that what he was doing would revolutionize the way not only the way his generation would live but all future ones. This showed that he cared not only for himself but for people he would never get the pleasure of meeting. Back in World War II a true hero was born. One of the bloodiest battles of WWII, Hacksaw Ridge, was lucky to have Desmond Doss as a part of their medical team. He saved 75 people. Most in which others had left behind, for they thought that they weren’t saving. He cared about every single one making it back to base to be helped despite who was after him. Or even in the 9/11 boatlift many heroes stepped up to the plate. Vincent Ardolino, Captain of the Amberjack V,
What comes to mind when you think of the word “hero”? Some people would think of a fictional character such as Superman, a comic-book character who has great strength, and can fly. Others might think of a historical figure, such as Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States. While the aforementioned examples are not only noteworthy, but also well-liked for their courageous characteristics, there are many other qualities to being a hero.
He was born in Glendale, California in 1973. He attended various California community colleges, but then soon found his true calling for acting full-time in 1993. He acted in 32 movies and 2 TV shows, some including Joy Ride (2001), Takers (2010), and Fast and Furious 6 (2013). In 2001, he starred in the movie The Fast and The Furious. The movie collected more than $200 million in box office receipts. When he is not on set acting, Paul Walker was active in the Reach out Worldwide organization (Bio.com 1-3). When people think of heroes, many think of men or woman like Superman, Wonder Woman, or even Batman, but real life heroes walk among us every day. One hero who deserves our recognition is Paul Walker.
What should someone visualize when they hear the word hero? An example could be your parents or even siblings because of their honorable actions.
