The debate on safe and adequate nurse staffing has remained a growing and controversial issue in healthcare. The most important issue is determining a safe number of nurses that should ideally work on a unit. In an article by The Journal of Nursing Administration it is stated that, “over the course of the last decade, hospital restructuring, spurred in part by a move to managed care payment structures and development of market competition among health care delivery organizations, led to aggressive cost cutting. Human resources, historically a major cost center for hospitals, and nurse staffing in particular, were often the focus of work redesign and workforce

Keeping the day-to-day business accounting is not just a necessity but rather, and above all, an obligation. Financial accounting seeks to find answers to recurring questions in a business such as, how much was sold last month, how many people have used the services, and how much to produce to meet the needs of the customers. The financial accounting is a method that helps better organize and manage any business. Accounting is the science that serves to organize all the numeric records of a particular company. Thus, it serves to record all movements of values and quantities. Having said that, it is not difficult to understand that financial accounting is, above all, a tool for managing a business, regardless of its size.

The steps involved in the staffing process is quite involved and detailed. First, there has to be some type of organization that conducts the interview such as a committee. This committee could consist parents of children enrolled in center or preschool (who can consider if he or she feels comfortable leaving their child in the hands of the candidate), staff members (who would be working with new candidate and see if the candidate would be a team player), and director or administrator of facility. The final decision on hiring the candidate should be made clear on who has the authority. (Democratic process or committee provide recommendations resting with director or administrator). Second, directors or administrators need to make sure they know the legal aspects of staffing such as the requirements and specifications required by law. Third, the listing of the job needs to be publicized in a number of ways so that every available candidate can view it (such as on internet, flyers, job fairs, and etc.). Fourth, the application should be constructed as a standard form providing information that the committee needs to review. Fifth, checking references of candidates before the interview to have a foresight or accreditation of what the candidate is capable of. Sixth, the interview process. This involves organizing the applications with all required information into the designated folder. Have candidate answer a variety of questions in which the committee would rank his
Although Yong Lee is an “expert” in the field of accountancy, the role she has been given within the business requires more than her accounting skills. She lacks the knowledge and skill of a successful manager. Lee demonstrates her style of leadership to be fairly autocratic (Robbins, 2014), although she deligates work she still ‘monitors them for completition’ (Philip, 2015, Paragraph 1). This is evident when one of her employees, Virat, complains about Lee questioning his every move creating the feeling that she “doesn’t trust him”. She also demonstrates this autocratic style of leadhership by failing to acknowledge the work by her employees and making decisions without consulting her team (Philip, 2015). This notion becomes apparent when Nafisa Rehman criticizes Lee about not acknowleding the “numerous drafts” of “suggested improvements” she had provided, which were then used by Lee compeling those above her to believe they were her own ideas. According to Kouzes and Posner (2008), another trait of a good leader is social skills of which Lee appears to lack. This creates difficulty in communicating with her employees, which is demonstrated when Petrova suggests to her staff to try and “get that help from Lee”, but they all agree that it was “difficult, as [she] was hard to talk to” and if anything needed to be discussed she would write it in a “memo”. This was also evident
