that it took Japan almost 1 year to make this plan perfect which they did. The USA did not think
out of all the places Japan would attack Pearl Harbor in America. The USA thought they would
attack south, since Pearl Harbor was 4,000 miles away from Japan. Pearl Harbor was totally
undefended and was a open target for Japan to attack. In the movie at Pearl Harbor it
was just a regular day until people saw tons of planes flying in and dropping bombs and
shooting people. They knew at that point Pearl Harbor was officially attacked by Japan. The

movie it showed how Japan practiced there plan and how much they prepared. Then the next
important thing was how Japan actually attacked Pearl Harbor. In the movie it showed how the
planes flew in. The first thing Japan did was drop a missile into the water and it struck the first
boat to be hit. The movie showed how people died and were taken into the hospital which was
not in good condition either. It also showed how badly the military cabins were struck and
everything was destroyed and it was all just devastating. This film would be helpful if you were
learning about this topic for the first time. This movie shows how the events happened and the
order of them. For example it showed how the Japanese were secretly planning their attack and
the USA had no idea it was coming. The movie showed how the USA thought that if Japan does
attack they will probably attack the south and not Pearl Harbor. The movie also showed how
when Japan actually did attack how much devastation there was. The commotion and
confusion people were facing and the ships and planes how they were completely
The attack on Pearl Harbor was the product of Japanese anger at the United States and President Roosevelt should have taken immediate action to prevent it.
Although Michael Bay’s movie Pearl Harbor is very well made it has more historically inaccurate parts than accurate parts. Michael Bay even says that it's a movie to give people the feeling of Pearl Harbor not the real facts of it.
Japan had been the one to bomb Pearl Harbor. The bombs had killed more than 2,300 Americans in the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory. This act had destroyed the U.S.S. Arizona and the U.S.S. Oklahoma completely. This attack had beached and /or sank ships but damaged about 9 others. Aircrafts were destroyed and damaged.
“Our military thought that they couldn't get to Pearl Harbor, that it was too long a journey from Japan to get there, and they proved us wrong”- Jerry Bruckheimer.(Jerry Bruckheimer Quotes) This quote helps explain that the United States thought that Japan could not get to the United States. The cause of Pearl Harbor is why the attack was so shocking the United States lost and damage many ships.
chance against them so America went ahead and showed japan that they shouldn't have attacked
The ship exploded and sank with more than 1,000 men trapped inside. Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was Japan's target to destroy the U.S.'s naval base on Dec. 7th, 1941. Pearl Harbor was shot and bombed by planes and submarines led by Japan. The attack was a huge surprise but America acted immediately. Why did Japan attack Pearl Harbor? Japan attacked Pearl Harbor for 3 reasons: The new world order, expansion of the U.S. fleet, and U.S. oil embargo.
Introduction – Pearl Harbor was vulnerable to attack because of the obstruction of defense and warning.
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is located near the center of the Pacific Ocean, roughly two thousand miles from the U.S. mainland and about four thousand miles from Japan. No one believed that the Japanese would start a war with an attack on the distant islands of Hawaii. American intelligence believed that an attack by the Japanese would likely take place in one of the nearby European colonies in the South Pacific, for example, the Dutch East Indies, Singapore or Indochina. Due to the American military leaders not expecting an attack so close to home, the naval facilities at Pearl Harbor were quite undefended. This was an aspect in the Japanese strategy that they took into consideration, Pearl Harbor was an irresistibly easy
The time leading up into World War 2, was a tough and harsh time, that ended in a devastating attack on Pearl Harbor. Many Americans, including President Woodrow Wilson, saw Pearl Harbor as a great shock because they believed that Japan was not strong enough to do something like that. Many believed Japan had a weak military, and was not capable for making such a bad situation. But for other Americans, including Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, believed that an attack on U.S, was possible, and very likely. The U.S, underestimated the Japanese, as a world power, and this later showed to prove them wrong in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Events such has the Tripartite Pact, and the changed radio signals, created suspicion for a possible attack on Pearl Harbor. The U.S, underestimated the Japanese, as a world power, and this later showed to prove them wrong in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
Pearl harbor is a big part of americas history that if making a movie about it should be historically accurate. Pearl harbor is inaccurate in its terms of things that occurred during that time period and during the war, like inaccurate aircrafts, and inventions like
December 7th, 1941; marked as “a day which will live in infamy”, is the day history occurred (Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Pearl Harbor Speech). What happened on this was protaryed in a series of films we watched in class. The first film, "Tora! Tora! Tora!” was directed by Richard Fleischer, Kinji Fukasaku, and Toshio Masuda in the 1970’s (IMDb). This film showed us the planning and events that followed up the attack that killed up to 2,500 and wounded 1,176 (Pearl Harbor). It also exposed us the point of view of the attackers, which is something you don’t see in other films. Other films like “Pearl Harbor”, which was directed by Michel Bay, Give us the point of view of the victims, the attacked (IMBd2). “Pearl Harbor” demonstrated the strength and courage people displayed during and after the attack on Pearl Harbor. But with the films we watched, along with the multiple motion pictures that reoccur the attack on Pearl Harbor, it makes you wonder: what is truly accurate and false in the films?
The movie Pearl Harbor directed and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer was released in 2001. This highly praised movie allows the audience to carefully watch a movie that is based on a day that started the United States' involvement in World War II. The movie begins with a two boys, Danny Walker and Rafe McCawley, who have grown up hoping to become involved in the United States military and slowly changes to the life, excitement, and hardships of being involved in the war. Rafe is one of the best fighter pilots in the regiment and falls in love with a beautiful nurse, Lt. Evelyn Johnson. As the United States tries to help the British, Rafe volunteers to go to London. After several months he supposedly dies when shot down
Pearl Harbor is a docu-drama that was released May 25 2001 and details the attack of the Empire of Japan on the Naval and Air forces the United States had stationed at Pearl Harbor, located on the Hawaiian Islands that brought the United States into World War II. The story of Pearl Harbor, and the men and women who became heroes that day is a story that needs to be told. People need to know what happened that day so that they will never take for granted the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women every day. This movie is very
The start of the film it shows Japan is about to sign a pact with Germany that will make them the member of the Axis forces. Japan has invaded southeast China. The Japanese government urges a careful appearance in which that the united states are concerned. Japan realized that winning a war against the United States will be difficult at best, but possibly. The Japanese decided that the only way to keep America at bay is to stage a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, and hope is to destroy the bulk of the Pacific fleet, including their precious aircraft carriers. With their air and naval power thus crippled, America will be a non-factor in the war in the Pacific. It is a gamble, and
Also another thing that proved to be historically inaccurate in the film was the the props they used. One being the types of cigarettes they were smoking. The characters from the movie were smoking Marlboro Lights which didn’t even appear anywhere until the 70’s! (Hughes)
