My three main goals as Peer Leader will be to support the creation of school events, to assist the teachers and fellow students, and to continue to improve Union Ridge. First off, I wish to become part of the Peer Leaders because I would love nothing more than to be a part of this school. I always strive to help out around the school as much as I can. Being part of the Peer Leaders would allow me to further aid and serve the teachers, students, and others all around me. If I were to be selected, I would hope to accomplish putting together or helping to design interesting events for students to partake in. Likewise, I would always be ready to lend a hand to anyone who may need assistance, teacher or not. I would also try to fix issues within …show more content…
When it would come to my responsibilities, the Peer Leading team (and my schoolwork, of course) would come first at all times. I find school and helping others at the top of my priorities. I would be willing to give up certain activities if it would interfere with being a responsible Peer Leader. I am willing to take on every challenge of being a Peer Leader with a positive attitude. I will work hard and try my absolute best in order to resolve any issue or take care of any responsibilities the may …show more content…
When one is in a service, they are not only just working for a community. He or she would feel as if they were really part of the community, and would care immensely for it. Anybody serving a community would want to influence the environment around to flourish. As for me, I would most certainly fall under these standards. I feel incredibly attached to this school and what goes on within. I would love to become an even larger part of this school, and help out in a service. A service would help build a community because partaking in one would cause you to have closer relations to peers around you. With a bit of positivity, one could build new relationships, which forms a small community. This community has the possibility to further expand. I personally would deeply enjoy forming and serving in a community with my peers around me. Lastly, I believe an area of concern of our Middle School students would include constant stress. I, however, have a proposal to this issue; perhaps planning more events. Having more events in which students participate in could relieve the stress school may cause. In order to discover what students may be interested in, several of the Peer Leading team and I could ask random students, and perform a survey. Having more exciting events could relieve students’ stress, and allow them to build new friendships.
Service is simply an act of helpful activity and the transferable skills that are gained from service illustrate the importance of being involved. By volunteering in my community and taking part in organizations that are centered on service, I am able to strengthen my understanding of my surroundings, and I am taught more compassion for others. Being involved presents unlimited opportunities to give back to others, and with the skills instilled by service, I am able to make a difference in the lives around me. Experience gained with service creates characteristics in a person that can shape the direction of my life, and I will value that in the future.
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new
Since childhood, I had a chance to develop my leadership and organizational skills through sports and had my school team win many competitions. My school is one of the places where my leadership qualities are valued as I often become a head of many activities, such as staging plays, organizing shows and school trips with my teachers. Being a leader gives me the opportunity to work in a team and consider my peers’ ideas to make our plans creative and enjoyable for everyone. My personal traits help me to gain trust and respect of my peers as they believe me to be a positive, open-minded and reliable person. I have learned to solve problems and conflicts thanks to this great experience of leadership, and I am always ready to assist my peers when it is
What does community service means to me? Well, to me community service mean helping your community become a better place. When you do things for your neighborhood, it makes you feel like a better person. There are all sorts of activities you can do in your community. You can work with children at school, work with the elderly, or help people that are less fortunate and make their day very special. Community Service is very important because it gives you a chance to bond with the people in your neighborhood. It will also give you a chance to give back to your community , you’ll learn a lot from your experience, and you’ll make a difference in someone’s life. I recommend a lot of people to go out and make a difference.
A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.
When I was asked to speak about service, the first thing I had to ponder was what exactly is service. In the world we live in today, there is so many different ways to serve those around you. Whether it is giving back to your school, local community, or even across borders the goal is always the same. Give a little piece of yourself for a greater good while expecting nothing in return.
In this regard, the most important part of service to me personally is giving back to the community. Volunteering is my way of providing service to others, it is not only effective, but it’s a good way to meet people, to learn, and to develop social skills. By helping or supporting others, I learned and used new skills in communicating with people and I have gained confidence in myself through different interactions. Providing aid to a family in need or helping out an elementary teacher is necessary, because as people it should be our natural tendencies to support one another, and bring aid when aid is due. For example, at Seven Lakes High school I created the Girls for Krause Club. It was given the name the Girls for Krause club after the Krause Center; a center in Katy that fosters girls who have been taken out of their homes due to sexual harassment, parental mistreatment or mental issues. My first visit to the Krause Center was with my youth group at church. I was so touched by all the girls at the center, and how open they were about their situation. I remember one of the girls telling me thank you, for treating her like “a regular person.” This interaction gave me the incentive to create the Krause club, because I wanted to allow other girls my age to interact with these girls and bring attention to a center that wasn’t well known in my community. Moreover, creating the Krause club has been rewarding and a way to showcase
Serving others is a down deep way of learning more about yourself and helping others to see past themselves. Our Business and Professional Communication class participated in several service projects, which were interesting and exciting to be involved with helping others. As I am studying the major courses of Early Childhood/Special Education, our group project with the “Big Brothers Big Sister” program was very memorable to me. It was wonderful to have fun and participate in various activities with the kids. The environment was caring due to everyone helping each other accomplish different tasks. It was a great feeling to be able to share our time, talents, and hearts with the kids.
One deciding to serve their surrounding community in an attempt to better the lives of people living in that community is one of the most selfless actions one individual person can perform. Throughout my time in high school career I committed myself to serving the broader community in order to better society whether it be me serving as Co-President of Life is Delicious or raising money for Special Olympics Connecticut by doing the Penguin Plunge.
Freshman of Lower Richland High school, I want to be the change that I want to see. I want my life to speak for itself! I am a strong young lady that will go very hard in school, and is always known for being gracious and kind. I want to lead by example! Putting God first in all that I do, making good grades, having the ability to say no to sex until marriage, and always saying no to drugs and alcohol. I want to show the freshman class that we can still be on top, and not give into the things of this world. As I mentioned early, no one starts as a leader however, the importance of being a leader is to start having a mindset as a leader early in life. Knowing that you can lead, and you will lead by
Serving the community to me is giving back and providing an opportunity to others or providing something once lost. I spent a
Service is one of the qualities they want their member to have. For me, service is equal to help. I have helped in my school as much as I can. By helping the community I have demonstrated how much I care about people. I like helping people and as a National Honor Society member, I would like to help new students who do not know the school and especially ESL students because

Community service is an act of selflessness that grows a caring community. Community only consists on what it’s members are willing to contribute to it. Personally, it is my pristine pride to assist the community in it’s development it into a bountiful place for all.
I see myself as a potential leader, trying to get everyone on task and doing on what we need to do. So being a leader will help other students and me be successful, and that we may surpass the teacher's expectations.
