The five art elements are line, color, shape, space, and texture. In most of his books, Peet likes to use line and color. In Farewell to Shady Glade, Peet uses line to represent rabbits’ furs, birds’ leathers, and the soft texture of the grass (p.2). On this picture, Peet uses short straight lines on rabbits’ back to tell the readers that animals are scared about the sound of rumbling. most of his books are very colorful. Since Peet loves to draw about animals, most of the stories happened in the forest or in the nature. For example, in Kweeks of Kookatumdee, Peet uses green to represent the grass, yellow to represent the land and rock, and blue to represent the sea. The animals are colorful too, the kweeks are color of yellow, red, purple
