Long, long ago there was this clown called Pennywise(the Dancing Clown), That lived in south carolina. Clowns need help or need money to eat or have a place to stay. Sometimes doing something is not always wrong. Pennywise thought of wearing mask during the shows they were doing at a tent they called the circuit.
First of all, Long, long ago there was a clown who’s name was called Pennywise back then some clowns did not have any money including Pennywise. So they thought of a good idea of making money but it was where you could not get caught by the police. So one day they made posters for people to see and that way people can come and see the show of the clowns which was called the circuit.
Then, the people went to the circuit to see what
Have you ever read The House On Mango Street? If you have read it you may have notice that the chapters are little vignette of her day to day life. As you read on and on you notice that the chapters “The Monkey Garden” and “The Red Clown” are the two chapters that make you think about the climax but if you really read carefully only one really makes you think about her change. In my opinion the climax of the story is in the chapter “The Red Clown”. In this chapter you can feel that she is in pain. You can really predict that she is going to change a lot. You can feel the pain by her words. In The House on Mango Street, “The Red Clown” made me feel that that is the climax of the story.
I love wearing masks. I love transforming my entire being into something completely different. Offstage I’m Culley Emborg, a likeable, friendly, normal kid, but on stage, I can be anyone. Over the years, I have participated in ten musicals and I’ve played a variety of characters ranging from one of the oblivious Who-people in a Dr. Suess-inspired production to a spiteful doll in “Mary Poppins” to a crippled nerd in “13: The Musical.” The best character I’ve played, however, is the stupid yet loveable Leaf Coneybear from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” As Leaf I wore the most wacky, unique outfit to ever grace my body: a pink bike helmet intended for little girls, knee pads decorated with Dora the Explorer stickers, a collared, tie-dye shirt, and even a long polkadot cape embroidered with a purple “L.” To this day that cape hangs on my bedroom wall and every time I happen to glance at it I reminisce about the odd boy it once belonged to.
John Carpenter’s Halloween was released in the fall of 1978; little did he know, his independent film would change the face of slasher films as we know it. This film was responsible for ushering in what we recognize today as modern horror. With a budget of just over $300,000, Halloween was shot in 20 days. It went on to become the highest grossing independent film of all time bringing in over $60 million until 1990; however, this film was not an instant success (Halloween UnMasked, 1999). Halloween also brandished a newer type of hero - a heroine. Jamie Lee Curtis has become known as the Scream Queen as a result of this film where she paved the way for other heroines in the slasher genre.
Clowns are draped all over social media and the news. People are using clown outfits just to get a popular video up on the internet. Clowns showing up by lampposts and chasing people around city streets. They send a mind crippling fear into people when they think of being in a situation with a killer clown. Imagine walking down what could be any street when you look down an old dirt road that you have passed a million times; You see it, it is what looks to be a blood thirsty clown waiting for a victim. Ironically it is most likely a guy who wants a funny video or just trying to get a good Halloween scare. A killer clown who is actually just a regular guy in a clown mask from Target... wait Target has missed out on huge clown mask sales due
John Wayne Gacy was a notorious serial killer and rapist who was known as the “Killer Clown.” The name was given to him because he often dressed up as a clown when torturing his victims. With a record of 33 murders of young males, Gacy went on to be one of the most spine-chilling serial killers to-date. He was born with a heart condition that led to multiple risk factors affecting his developmental growth as well as his relationship with his father. Although Gacy’s father did not care for him, his mother did her best to protect him. Coercion theory is used to describe how the relationship between Gacy and his father lead to the infamous killings that Gacy was soon known for. Luckily, Gacy was well-liked in his community after moving out. Society
The masks act as a way for the guests to block their guilt from being exposed after leaving people beyond the four walls to fend for themselves. “It was towards the close of the fifth or sixth month of his seclusion, and while the pestilence raged most furiously abroad, that the prince Prospero entertained his thousand friends at a masked ball of the most unusual magnificence” (Poe, Par.4). The invitees put on masks to symbolically obscure themselves from the fate of the “Red Death”. Poe is stating that the people are falling into the same arrogant way of thinking as Prospero by trying to escape disease. The party-goers are also hiding from themselves and each other because they selfishly tried to make themselves immune to the disease while leaving the outside world to fend for their lives. The masks being worn also helps give the sense of confidence while being “hidden”, especially Prospero. “ ‘Who dares’-- he demanded hoarsely of the courtiers who stood near him-- ‘Who dares insult us with this blasphemous mockery? Seize him and unmask him-that we may know whom we have to hang, at sunrise, from the battlements!’ (Poe, par.11). As soon as Prospero’s eyes landed on the mummer, there was a surge of confidence that shot up within his body in a split second. The mask upon Prospero’s face caused him to act in a boastful and cocky way to try and defeat the mummer, despite
Imagine being a king or queen in the medieval period being able to rule the kingdom with a iron fist. Imagine all the stresses that come with that. You have a unknown disease (later known as Black Death) mysteriously killing half of your kingdom. You have the stresses of other kingdoms coming to strike you at any moment. What would a king need in these stressful times?
The appearance of pennywise the clown would induce nightmares in most children. He has pale white skin, a red nose and a receding hairline with the rest of his head covered in curly red clown hair. As for his clothes, Pennywise wears classic circus clown clothes. A one piece that is brightly colored with blue sleeves and a yellow body. The purpose of Pennywise the Clowns actions and appearance are meant to do one thing. To scare children. When pennywise the clown is first seen talking to Georgie, although he is extremely creepy being in a gutter, a place no one would ever want to see a clown he seems friendly in his demeanor. However, when he pulls Georgie into the gutter his face becomes even more demonic and he gives a chilling smile and laugh with fanglike, yellow stained teeth.
The Clown Motel is a pretty interesting concept. I do not think that I would personally stay at the motel, but it is interesting. Looking through some of the photos definitely gave me the old town feel. I think it is great that you want to go back to work as an Accounting Assistant 2. Good luck in the Computer Technologies
When hear the name Merry Pranksters what comes to your mind? Let me guess a group of young individuals dressed in a joker costume running around throwing water balloons from roof tops or shaking hands with strangers to taze them. Merry Pranksters were not exactly known for doing that, but they were group of young adults who did pranks with LSD. For instance, they mixed LSD in a bowl of Kool-Aid in their parties to get their guests high and this was known as Electric Kool-Aid Test. “In the 1960s, heroes of the counterculture -- Timothy Leary, Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters, the Beatles and the Grateful Dead -- embraced the practice of dropping acid, viewing it as a great way to party and as the path to a higher consciousness” (Ross). At the same time, in the sixties violence was prevalent from Vietnam War, to protesters rebelling against the government and U.S. was at a brink of starting World War 3 with the Soviet Union. As a result, this made the American people pessimistic about their future, so they began to take LSD and drugs. We can see things in today’s culture that were partially inspired by the Merry Pranksters, such as using LSD in order to be connect with the self, two distinct groups of LSD users and the revival of psychedelic movement.
Name’s Tom Foolery. I’m a clown. Or what the normal people had designated ‘Homo fossor’ or human clown. There were many new classes of ‘humans’ in Circus City. From the fire-breathers, acrobats, freaks, contortionists, clowns, and numerous other ‘pseudo’ humans the Big Top had to offer. It had only been about forty years since the rest of the world
“It” in its origins, is Stephen King’s 1100 page literary masterpiece that has bred Coulrophobia within many who dared to sojourn through the novel. Nevertheless, it was the novel’s subject in focus, Pennywise the Clown, embodied in full flesh by Tim Curry that amassed a sadistic following and obsession with the arrival of the 1990 TV miniseries on ABC. Curry’s portrayal of the dancing clown quickly became a hallmark image for the horror canon, if not the face of horror movies altogether. Flash forward 27 years later, the fear of clowns has burgeoned into a commonplace phobia and horror trope. With all this to say, no clown has terrorized us in our nightmares quite like Curry’s Pennywise. Well, that was the case until Bill Skarsgård came along with a darker rendition of the fiendish entity in Andrés Muschietti remake of “It.”
I have a major fear of clowns. It started with a terrible occurrence in my youth. Everytime I see one I have this horrible feeling that makes me sick. Of my experiences, I had one encounter that made my fear somewhat decrease. Most of my fear from them is what I didn't know or see. But I'm still not afraid of the circus.
“So kids, every Halloween, it is said that her ghost, roams the empty hallways of this very school, searching for another female student to take her place.” The students were now on the edge of their wooden seats, eyes wide, listening to every word Mr. Morris said. All of a sudden the loud bell breaks the silence, making each one of them jump.
Masks were created to be placed over the face, on the top of the head, or even over the head. Most masks represent spirits of ancestors (Fetzer 106). Some villages make masks with full costumes and use them with music to dance in ritual performances. They used masks for social control,
