PepsiCo was formed in 1961 when the two companies Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay merged. The new company’s vision is to “[create] products that [their] consumers are eager to buy and [their] employees are proud to sell” (PepsiCo, n.d.). Similarly, their mission is “to be the world 's premier consumer products company focused on convenient foods and beverages” (PepsiCo, n.d.). PepsiCo is a huge company that owns a huge amount of food and beverage brands. Because of that, PepsiCo offers wide variety of products. Their products range from soft drinks, juice, bottled water, snacks, and oatmeal. In this report, I will be focusing on their original Pepsi soft drink and their original Mountain Dew soft drink. For consistency, all prices mentioned in this report are in Canadian dollars. Pepsi and Mountain Dew are both priced at $0.22 per 100 mL and $0.15 per 100 mL respectively. In my opinion, the price of the products is perceived by customers to be low. However the price of drinks vary depending on where the consumers are buying the drinks from. For instance while most retailers sell a 100 mL can of Pepsi for $0.22, the same can will cost the consumer $1.00 if they are buying it from a vending machine. Consumers perceive vending machine prices to be high compared to the price that most retailers sell the drinks for.
