Perceval kissed Joan on the cheek before he left their chambers. She was in such a fine mood, as were most people of Camelot these days. The annual Harvest Festival, to be held on the vast castle training grounds in just a few days, coincided with Joan’s birthday. Further, King Arthur had just announced that he and Queen Guinevere would attend the festival in its entirety, a special occurrence. While Arthur often opened the castle grounds for various festivals and events, he and Guinevere rarely attended larger events for any length of time, because the king knew it put a great strain on the knights to provide security for an entire evening. But the Harvest Festival held special significance this year; Morgane had perished and Camelot had …show more content…
He knew she’d enjoy herself with Carina; the ladies would play games, drink, and feast, but still, this was her first birthday as his wife and she deserved a thoughtful gift. Thus, Perceval left the castle to go call on Carina, since he was in a quandary about what to give his wife. Joan was on her way to go train with Pawl anyway, so this provided Perceval enough time to slip down to Carina’s cottage without Joan asking many questions. On the gorgeous autumn evening, crisp leaves danced in the cool breeze and the nip of wood smoke permeated the air as Perceval ambled to Carina’s cottage. He drew closer and took a quick glance inside of the window (Carina had the bad habit if leaving her window hangings open all the time) and noticed Carina had a guest, presumably for an early supper, and a male guest at that. Perceval didn’t want to snoop, but upon closer inspection, he realized the companion was none other than Ulrich. The two seemed to be enjoying a rather cozy, intimate evening meal, as evidenced by the way Carina leaned in and laughed and smiled when she spoke to Ulrich, and Ulrich gazed at her with affection in …show more content…
As a knight, he was sensitive to furtive movement, and he placed his hand on his belt dagger. “I heard something outside.” He stood up. “I’ll be right back.” Ulrich stepped out of the cottage door to find none other than Perceval standing there with an apologetic look on his face. “Ah, caught,” said Perceval. Ulrich dropped his grip from his knife handle. “Are you here to see Carina? Sorry, I thought you might be an intruder.” “Yes. It’s Joan’s birthday on the Harvest festival and I hoped Carina might have some gift ideas, because I’m stumped. But I can see you’re busy; I’ll come back a different time.” Perceval’s discomfort pleased Ulrich a little. For once, Ulrich had the upper hand, and it was a pleasant feeling. He no longer wished Perceval ill, and they’d gotten along well enough during the last month, but still… “No, come in,” offered Ulrich. “It’s just supper. Carina and I have been spending a little time together.” He took a deep sigh. “All right, that’s not true. I’m actually quite mad for her.” Ulrich had to stop himself from laughing at the look of relief that washed over
“We have an intruder,” Kuroo called out, not leaving his eyes from Akaashi. He smirked down at the other man as the door burst open and a small group of people rushed in.
According to Scout, Atticus knew what he was doing to defend Tom Robinson, and it’s quite obvious from three main situations. The first is when he proved that Tom Robinson couldn’t give Mayella Ewell those injuries. At the beginning, when Atticus was questioning Heck Tate, the witness said that Mayella Ewell’s right side of her face was beat up. However, the fact that Heck Tate had mistaken the side because of his point of view was also very important. That way, when Robert Ewell was asked to write, it showed that he was left handed. As Scout said, it was obvious that ‘If her right eye was blacked and she was beaten mostly on the right side of the face, it would tend to show that a left-handed person did it.’ (Lee, 178) Moreover,
Perceval cleared his throat and did his best to change the direction of the conversation. He didn’t want the mood to turn somber. “It all happened ages ago. I’ve done a good deal of traveling and have had lots of adventures, so life’s been kind to me
Riding on, Ulrich recalled how Carina had slapped him right across the face. In that moment, he assumed she was furious with him and would forget him more easily. But then she flew out into the hallway and said she’d wait for him. He’d wanted to tell her not to, he wanted to spin around and lie, say that he never cared for her. That way, she’d move on and forget all about him, but the words were so false he couldn’t bring himself to say them.
On May 22nd, 2014, a group of women technologists and leaders made a huge contribution in the fight for gender equality for women in technology1. They grabbed the attention of their audience in an equality issue that has been a hard fought battle of gender equality. At this time, male and female tech employees seem to be divided on how it is that a direct call to action and solution to the issue of gender inequality in tech be taken2. This group of women has offered to give a voice to the people and organizations that are willing to and actively making changes in gender equality3. It has been this mentality and perseverance of this group of women that have made this plight visible and women’s experiences valid. On one hand, there is a group of women who believe that the workplace need be diversified, focusing on inclusion and talent to reach gender equality. On the other hand, there are male employees who believe that because they do not choose to participate in the discriminatory behavior against female counterparts, there is no problem that exists and therefore there is no need for changes in the workplace. we saw a crazy spiral when Abigail started to conceal information about the night's activities and resorted to an extreme form of behaviour by killing others. This play sheds light on how state and dominant cultural values can even sweep those who think otherwise. I mean if I am thinking logically and have moderate view, that won't matter if I find myself in such situation where people put their allegations for let’s say apostasy or make false charges, fake FIRs and if the media blows it out of proportion without investigation like it happens in this part of the world, there is just no way to escape from that vicious cycle (Miller, 1953). Nobody is safe if the state laws and the prevailing order is messed up. Proctor was worried of his reputation
“It was not me she wanted to see,” Boudreaux replied. “She wants something from you and I’m afraid that something is Salomé.”
Perceval and Joan spent the rest of their walk discussing Joan’s love of all things related to healing. Perceval was fascinated by the fact she could identify so many herbs and describe their uses. She spoke with such passion and enthusiasm about the profession.
Carina giggled. “Ulrich told me he had blisters on his feet for a week after that! You’re mean, Gawain.”
Perceval was not willing to share the gorier details of battle with Joan, as he didn’t want to burden her with the often grotesque and horrifying images associated with combat. It was difficult enough for him to contend with such visions.
“Perceval, here,” called Gawain’s voice, and in that instant, Perceval knew at least one man had fallen.
Worn out from spending ages getting Gawain settled into his bedchamber, Perceval lumbered down the castle corridor and made it to his door. Carefully, he entered his quarters and took a quick glance around the room; it was empty. His wife and their baby might be visiting with Carina, or Joan might have taken Percy along on a patient visit.
“A secret admirer? How intriguing is that?” He noticed the hint of a smile that crept onto the princess’ face. “I remember when I first began courting Guinevere. My father most certainly did not approve. So, I tried to send her secret notes and gifts, but she always knew who they were from. Merlin was never very subtle in his delivery.”
Half way through their dinner and two Professor’s Delights later for Meford, the chandelier doors opened and entered Bergess and three of her best friends. The four of them were hardly ever seen apart and were the envy and desire of every patron in Solstice. Eyes of jealous girlfriends and wanting boyfriends darted back and forth from the door to the company they had come with. Meford being a little tipsy slapped Kohen on the shoulder and said a little too loud,
"No, why? Do you want to meet me at our cafe?" She asks with a smile. Simon and Seraphina had met a little cafe in Brooklyn called the 'Hot and Cold Cafe' which was amusing for both her and Simon. Simon in shock at such an obvious name failed to see Seraphina who was walking up to the counter. Simon then bumped into her and spilled his drink all over her legs. Simon was frantic, thinking he had burned the beautiful woman, but she hadn't felt it at all. She then asked him to sit with her and the rest was history.
