As a high school senior, I spent all year searching for a compatible college that fits my requirements. I wanted a college that is affordable, so when I graduate I am not stuck with a massive debt. I wanted a campus that is has friendly people and feels like home. Finally, the college must provide me with the right skills to start my career. With those three standards in mind, I narrowed my choices to one perfect college.
I filtered my search to include colleges located within the United States. Furthermore, I did not look at any colleges that do not provide a cyber security or computer science degree. Following my investigation, the few colleges that did satisfied my prerequisites, were vetted once again. I had to consider which college could provide me the necessary resources to start a career. I found that most of the

I found many entries online from ivy league students who shared their campus experiences. The entries indicated that many of their students are stressed, constantly tired and in poor health due to stress of the academic standards. Their students are used to easy A’s, but in the ivy league institutions, they are loaded with work and cannot deal with the unacceptable grades. I experienced that situation when I attended the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, a boarding school for juniors and seniors that provide college-level classes. I was on antidepressants and went to therapy in an attempt to cope with the taxing environment. I did not want to go through that feeling again at Cornell. I hoped for the best as I investigated the lifestyle of OSU-IT. I scheduled a campus tour and instantly felt at home. It is a small college in a rural town, and the environment felt warm. Even though the school is academically challenging, the school provides relaxation areas and counseling. Even though I did not visit Cornell, I knew from past research that the school did not provide such comfort as
When I arrived here at college I was extremely disappointed with the selection of food here in the cafeteria. I frequently found myself eating only hamburgers and pizza over and over again, simply because I did not like the other choices. About four months into the school year I had do go to the doctor for a virus and when the nurse weighed me I was a little surprised by what I saw. I had gained a little over ten pounds, close enough to what some refer to as the “Freshman 15.” It is a common fear among college students that they are going to gain fifteen pounds during the course of adjusting to college life. However experts have stated that the idea of the so called “Freshman 15,” is not that accurate. Every college student is obviously
As a young boy, I never truly put much into school. I put as little thought about college as well, but it took one moment that made me want the desire to succeed in my life and make something of it. Working for 12 straight hours in the middle of the hot sun, making minimum wage wasn't how I wanted to live. Going to multiple jobs and having to work all weekend, even during school occasionally was extremely difficult. This just gave me that extra drive to be more superior than anyone else. Yet, I never gave up and still pushed to be the best student I could be. Staying up late nights just to finish homework so I was able to make the best grade in class. The simplest moments in life made we want to be the best
There are some people who think college is a waste of time. Then there are others who would debate that opinion and say college is an essential key to life. With a college education, I would have a better opportunity at making my life a lot better. I will be giving myself the opportunity live above the poverty level of today and I will be giving myself a chance at middle-class living. “As many as one in three first-year students won't make it back for sophomore year” (“Freshmen retention rate”). It just so happened that I followed that statistic. Many colleges do not care much if students drop out or flunk out once their tuition checks have been cashed (Los Angeles Times).Growing up in a very strict household and attending private Catholic school, I was ready to spread my wings and fly. I was looking forward to that independence, my own rules and living on my own. I was enthusiastic to get started on my college journey. In my mind, I was about to live the dream. I would experience my own place to live, no rules, and get to hang out with friends! Oh, and college, too. I was not prepared to be so distracted
Writing is the ability to express yourself and to communicate with others. College writing courses strive to provide students with the ability to do this. In the following quote, AOur greatest multicultural resource, one that is authentic, rich, and truly diverse,@ Maxine Hairston, is obviously speaking about today=s student. How can we give all students who have different values, language, and cultural background the ability to express themselves, to communicate, and to contribute in significant ways to the relationship with others locally and globally? Do we strictly emphasize correct grammar and usage? Do we focus on critical thinking skills or personal expression? I am sure that this has obviously been a very

Corporate America elucidates the impression that the economic status of a student should determine their need for higher education. However, with so many resources available to help these unknowledgeable students, hope at working the career choice of their dreams is no longer a possibility without being consumed with with the idea of paying debt all your life -if you even qualify for loans… I know the tactics students used to empathically appeal to their reader. By showing horrible events of their life they project burden after burden and gain their money out of sympathy, but I can ensure whatever you feel from this letter sympathy is not my objective. I am a happy and private person, but now that my education is on the line
If college really is the road to success, then why doesn’t everyone go to college for knowing they will be successful in the long run? This question is something that almost every high school student goes through when they are in their final years of high school. Whether it is taking exhausting advanced placement classes, studying for an upcoming ACT test, working to receive community service hours, or filling out and ultimately submitting an application in hopes of getting accepted into college, being admitted to college can be an excruciating task at hand. Being a hard-working, focused high school student I find that college is the path that all teens should consider walking upon because of the opportunities of being more successful financially and mentally are more likely, the legacy and positive behavior can be looked up to by my future children, and the expenses that many fear of college will ultimately be nullified after some time once work has immense post-college.

The words “You can’t”, have been apart of my mind set since day one. I was always told that it isn’t possible for me to be as smart as my sister, or on the same level of my brother who is special needs. I was always in the in between, but the main reason I am striving for success is because I know I can and even though at times I don’t think college is for me, I know I can achieve anything I set my mind to. In less than three years I will have a whole new life started for myself, all because I made it possible for myself to receive a college degree and start the perfect life full of success, money and happiness.

After graduating high school, no one prepares you for college. Most kids when they are finished with high school don’t even fantasize about going back to school. I have always wanted to go to college ever since I was a young kid. I also had dreams of myself going to college, but in my dreams, everything was picture perfect. In reality, college has been very challenging for me. No one tells you about the adjustments and complications that you would have to face to become a successful college student.
Four years ago, as a freshman in highschool, attending a liberal arts school was not important to me or my aspirations. I just knew I wanted to go to a “good” college. I did not learn what liberal arts really was until I was a senior in high school, and even then, it did not play as much of role in my college decision process as it should have. To me, it just meant do I want to learn about more subjects, or just my area of study. I had this form or thinking just one year ago, but now, as a member of a liberal arts institution, I am finding a new appreciation for the importance of a liberal arts education in my life because of the society that we live in today.
