In this era of modernisation and globalisation, the changing environment has tremendously shaped the role of an individual in an organisation. In relation to this it is important that every employee has proper description to coherent what is employees roles and responsibility and decisively what is the performance level that is expected from the upper management.
In connection to this, a job description refers to a list of tasks, duties and responsibility that a job entails. In other words, a job description is normally a clear written statement that explains in depth the purpose of the job, job requirements and qualifications followed by the activities that should be performed and the required performance standard (De Cieri et al. 2009).
Customarily, a well-designed position description contains 4 crucial elements, namely Position details, Job duties, Performance standard and Job factors (De Cieri et al. 2009). Detailed explanations of each element are as following. Firstly, a must have in job description is the position details. This part mainly consists of a working title. The job title should be based on the main function of the job. An example of a job title is Business manager.
