Performance Management Framework
Mr. Stonefield is starting his own business in Austin, Texas, called Landslide Limousine Service. One of the fundamental elements to building this new business venture is creating a framework for performance management. The framework must include necessary employee job skills, the methods used for measuring these skills, the process for addressing skill gaps, and the approach for delivering effective performance feedback.

The second process is critical incidents. “These are vignettes comprising brief actual reports that illustrate particularly effective or ineffective worker behaviors” (Cascio, 2011, p. 173). This process will also be based on the experiences of hiring other limousine services. As indicated with the job analysis process, Landslide Limousine has competition in the Austin area, and it is imperative to differentiate itself. One way it can do so is by creating a strong performance philosophy. According to "Performance Management Philosophy" (2013), “A “performance management philosophy” is the organization’s belief about how people should be managed to achieve the performance that the organization needs to succeed” (para. 1). As a new company in a very competitive market, Mr. Stonefield’s philosophy should be centralized around building a positive reputation, and superior customer service. The customers of Landslide Limousine Service will expect the best in service, and Mr. Stonefield should accept nothing but the best of his staff as well. The philosophy of performance is linked to the methods used for measuring the employee’s skills, addressing skill gaps, and the approach for delivering effective performance feedback.
